We are incredibly lucky and deeply grateful for each and every one of our donors. We’re fortunate to have supporters of all kinds—those who give when they can, those who contribute monthly, those who sponsor specific animals, and those who send us essential preventatives and medications.

Recently, we were absolutely overjoyed to receive seven boxes filled with supplies we urgently need and use every single day. A heartfelt thank you to Stephanie Ann for this amazing and generous donation!

That same week, we received two more boxes of preventative medications from one of our regular supporters—thank you so much, Terry—as well as a ninth box filled with fantastic leashes and collars!

As we continue to face financial challenges and focus heavily on fieldwork, these donations couldn’t have come at a better time. Your kindness and generosity help us continue our mission, and we are truly, truly thankful.

With heartfelt appreciation,
TEAM ROAR

WE HAVE ALMOST $2600 IN CURRENT VET BILLS AND NOT ENOUGH FUNDS TO COVER!

WE ARE WAITING FOR A MIRACLE TO CONTINUE THE IMPORTANT WORK WE ARE DOING!

🚨 Urgent PSA from ROAR: We Need Your Help to Keep Going 🚨

PLEASE WATCH FOR OUR EXCITING UPCOMING FUNDRAISERS!

ROAR is the only animal rescue on Roatan, endorsed by the Roatan Municipal, working daily within our communities—responding to calls for help, treating the sick and injured, sterilizing pets to fight the overpopulation crisis, and caring for abandoned puppies and kittens.

Every day, we receive multiple pleas from residents needing support—from emergency medical treatment to basic care for animals with contagious diseases. We've always committed ourselves fully to reducing suffering and improving animal welfare across the island.

But now, we're at a breaking point.

Despite our best efforts to cut costs, the rising medical expenses have surpassed the donations we receive. With heavy hearts, we must pause intake of new medical cases and temporarily suspend spay/neuter services.

💔 This is not a decision we take lightly.
Our volunteers remain devoted. Our mission remains unchanged. But without the funds to pay our veterinarians, we must shift our focus to rebuilding our resources.

We are actively fundraising and seeking support from compassionate individuals and local businesses. This pause is temporary—we are not giving up.

🙏 Please consider donating or helping us connect with potential sponsors so we can return to full operations as soon as possible. Together, we can continue to make Roatan a safer, kinder place for animals.

With gratitude,
The ROAR Team

🧳✈HAVE SOME SPACE IN YOUR BAG?✈🧳

Ehrlichia and heartworm are two diseases that are endemic on Roatan, and we see complications of this disease every day. Both are avoidable with monthly flea/tick & heartworm prevention. However, the cost for these medicines exceeds the daily salary for most pet owners.

We are in desperate need of medicine for 25-50lb dogs, and 8-12lb cats.

As always, ROAR appreciates your generous donations!

URGENT: Help Luna Get the Surgery She Desperately Needs

As we shared in our recent PSA, ROAR is facing a critical financial situation. Despite this, the calls keep coming—for spay and neuter help, for emergencies, for animals in urgent need. We want to say "yes" every time, but currently that is not the case, although some cases make it nearly impossible to say "no."

One of those is Luna.

We first introduced Luna in mid-May. She’s a sweet puppy born with a severe hernia. Her owners brought her to the vet, but at the time, she was too young to undergo surgery. Now, just over a month later, her condition has worsened significantly. Luna urgently needs surgery before the hernia causes even more serious complications.

The total cost for her surgery is approximately $450 USD—a significant portion of that being the special mesh material, which is expensive and difficult to source on the island.

We’re asking for your help to cover the cost of this life-saving surgery. Please consider donating to give Luna the chance at a healthy, happy life. We need to help Luna now.

Every dollar makes a difference.

UPDATE ON GUARDIAN

Guardian was seen by the veterinarian this morning, and sadly, he was in significant distress. His condition had worsened since last month—his bloodwork showed serious decline, and his gums had turned pale, almost translucent. An X-ray revealed two additional large tumors in his lungs. The cancer had spread, making surgery no longer an option. His abdomen was also filling with blood.

With heavy hearts, his loving owner made the difficult decision to let Guardian cross the rainbow bridge. He will be laid to rest in the garden at his home, surrounded by the love he knew so well.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who donated, prayed, and sent good thoughts for Guardian. He was deeply loved and truly a loyal member of the family. Any remaining funds after covering Guardian’s final veterinary care will go toward helping other dogs in need.

If you’d like to support our ongoing mission to help the animals of Roatán, becoming a monthly donor of just $5–$10 would make a meaningful difference.

Help Guardian Get Life-Saving Surgery
Guardian is a beloved 4-year-old family pet whose life has taken a heartbreaking turn. On May 21st, one of our dedicated volunteers was contacted by his concerned owner after discovering a large tumor in Guardian's groin area.
He was immediately taken to the Veterinary Clinic, where he was diagnosed with a fast-growing carcinoma, along with smaller tumors developing near his hip. Surgery is urgently needed to remove the tumors, but Guardian's condition is complicated by poor bloodwork. He is currently anemic and undergoing a 30-day course of doxycycline before he can be retested and hopefully cleared for surgery.
He has 13 days left on his treatment. If his bloodwork improves, he will be able to move forward with the surgery, which is estimated to cost $300.00.
Despite everything, Guardian remains in good spirits—always wagging his tail and soaking up affection during our volunteer's visits. Sadly, at the last check-in on June 17th, the tumor had grown and started to bleed.
We’re asking for your help to give Guardian a fighting chance. Every donation brings him one step closer to the care he desperately needs. Please consider supporting this sweet boy in his time of need.
