📢 香港寵物晶片條款更新！
自2025年8月1日起，香港漁農自然護理署（AFCD）開始逐步接受ISO標準晶片用於狗隻牌照登記，取代原有的AVID晶片。🐶✨
🔑 對寵物家長的影響：
🐾 2025年8月1日後，辦理狗隻牌照首次登記，可採用ISO規格的晶片（若您的狗隻已植入AVID晶片並完成登記，則不受影響）。
🌍 2025年8月1日後，若進口至香港的狗隻已植入有效的ISO晶片（並具備合法進口文件），可直接用於香港的狗隻牌照申請，無需像以往一樣在抵達香港機場時再植入AVID晶片。
📊 ISO晶片包含15位數字，前3位通常代表國家代碼。
👉 香港發行的ISO晶片為 344 開頭。
⚠️ 重要提醒：
寵物晶片僅儲存識別號碼，不會記錄姓名、地址或聯絡方式，也無法像GPS設備一樣進行追蹤。
💡 整體來說，這次漁農署對條款所作的變更是一項正面的改進，能減少對寵物造成的壓力！
📢 Updates in Pet Microchipping for Hong Kong!
Since 1st August 2025, the AFCD (Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department) started phasing over from AVID microchips to ISO-standard microchips being accepted for dog licensing in Hong Kong. 🐶✨
🔑 What this means for pet parents:
🐾 After 1st August 2025, dogs in Hong Kong undergoing first registration can now be microchipped with ISO chips for registration in Hong Kong (if your dog already has an AVID microchip registered, then this does not impact them).
🌍 After 1st August 2025, if dog being imported into Hong Kong already has a valid ISO chip (with proper import paperwork), this can now be used for licensing in Hong Kong — no need for a second AVID chip to be implanted upon arrival at the HK Airport like before.
📊 ISO chips contain 15 digits, and the first 3 numbers usually show the country of origin.
👉 Hong Kong–issued ISO chips will start with 344 🇭🇰.
⚠️ Remember:
A microchip only holds the identification number — it does not store names, addresses, or contact details, and it cannot be “tracked” like a GPS device.
💡 Overall, this change from the AFCD is a positive step and less stress for pets!
