Cat owners across the city are eagerly awaiting Dr. Toru Miyazaki’s development of an AIM injection💉 to delay the progression of kidney failure in cats, but it may not be officially available until 2027. Does that mean nothing can be done before the drug is available?

What makes feline AIM different from that of other animals is that their AIM is bound too tightly by the antibody IgM, preventing it from being released to clear waste from the blood. 狗與貓誤吞異物，最常導致消化道阻塞或損傷，這是一種嚴重且危及生命的急症。
常見症狀包括噁心、持續嘔吐、腹瀉、腹痛、嗜睡、食慾不振、便秘。
這需要立即緊急診斷，獸醫通常會使用 超聲波或X 光 來確認異物位置，獸醫根據檢查結果決定最合適的治療方案。應常留意寵物把什麼放進嘴裡啊！

Foreign body ingestion in dogs and cats will most often cause digestive tract blockage or damage which is a serious, life-threatening emergency.
Symptoms include nausea, persistent vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain, lethargy, loss of appetite, constipation. Immediate veterinary attention is critical for diagnosis, often requiring imaging to determine appropriate treatment options. Always try to keep an eye on what they put in their mouths!

🌦 春季散步注意
香港春季，天氣潮濕悶熱，因濕氣與頻繁的毛毛雨，地面常常潮濕。這樣溫暖潮濕的環境非常適合寄生蟲與細菌繁殖，例如 梨形鞭毛蟲 (Giardia)、鉤端螺旋體病 (Leptospirosis) 以及其他引起腹瀉的病原體🦠。
所以在這季節外出散步時，主人應留意時間與環境，散步後務必徹底清潔並擦乾寵物的腳掌🐾，避免讓寵物飲用積水或水窪。
保持乾爽，保持安全！
🌦 Springtime Pet Safety Reminder
It is known to be very moist and humid during Springtime in Hong Kong. The ground is moist most of the time from humidity and frequent drizzles. The warm and damp environment is perfect for proliferation of parasites and bacteria🦠, such as Giardia, Leptospirosis and other diarrhea causing pathogens.
Take precautions on when and where to walk your pets during this season. Remember to thoroughly clean and dry their paws 🐾 after walks and prevent them from drinking from puddles.

貓特發性膀胱炎(FIC)/壓力性膀胱炎是獸醫診所最常見的疾病之一，但許多貓主人並不知道它並非由細菌感染引起，而是由壓力事件導致的痛苦膀胱炎。症狀包括：血尿、排尿困難、頻繁進出貓砂盆、在貓砂盆外排尿、過度舔毛、行為改變。😿公貓患有 FIC 時，可能會出現危及生命的尿道阻塞，這是緊急狀況‼️

💡Did you know that stress can literally hurt your cat’s bladder?
Feline idiopathic cystitis (FIC)/ Stress Cystitis is one of the most common conditions seen at vet clinics, yet many cat parents do not know that it is not caused by a bacterial infection. But instead, it is a painful bladder inflammation most often caused by stressful events.
Symptoms include bloody urine, straining to urinate, going in and out of the litter box, urinating outside of the litter box, overgrooming, behaviour changes. 😿Male cats with FIC can develop a life-threatening obstruction, which is an emergency‼️
