【 🎭🌊 Sunken Takeover】Retrace cherished childhood memories 👉 http://bit.ly/412OPd9

Hong Kong-based illustrator Mooncasket crafts retro-inspired cartoons specially for K11 MUSEA enveloping the wall of Sunken Plaza in a bright mural that offers viewers a temporary escape from reality.

Mooncasket (Evangeline Chan) is known for her cute and quirky character doodles. She envisions ‘Moss Playground’ as a tropical waterfall calling back to idyllic childhood moments spent in playgrounds. The project is co-created with HKwalls, a non-profit arts organisation promoting local and international artists through the medium of street art.

Featuring a façade with conical-shaped glass panels, programmed water patterns, and a misting system, Sunken Plaza is designed by James Corner, who is part of K11 MUSEA’s 100 creative powers — a combination of acclaimed local and international artists, architects, designers, and environmentalists working in collaboration. Corner is best known for designing Tongva Park in Santa Monica, California, and The High Line in New York. He created Sunken Plaza to be an immersive venue for film festivals, performance art, and live music shows.

【 🌏 Switch Off for Earth Hour 】The “light switch” is just the beginning — much more needs to be done beyond turning off our lights for an hour. Join K11 MUSEA in World Wide Fund for Nature Earth Hour 2023 on 25 March at 8:30PM as part of the New World Sustainability Vision 2030 (SV2030) to raise awareness on climate change and shape a brighter future for our planet.

The New World Sustainability Vision 2030 (SV2030) references the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) and strives to avoid, reduce, and reverse the causes of climate change across its operations. One of its main targets for 2030 is to halve its environmental impact in energy and carbon emissions.

This year’s World Wide Fund for Nature Earth Hour continues to explore the recurring theme ‘Habits Protect Habitats’ with a focus on wetlands. One of the most important nature-based solutions to many of today’s environmental problems, wetlands absorb excessive rainfall during the typhoon season, build climate resilience for our city, region, and planet, and offer a home to an abundance of wildlife.

This Earth Hour, let’s turn our lights off for one hour to shape a brighter future together!
