My husband has discovered dozens of mouse videos he recorded on his phone back when I still bred show mice, so let’s explore his gallery together. 🐭 A bunch of black hereford babies to start off. ❤️

I don't think I have ever officially mentioned that shortly after arriving to Hong Kong, I did keep and breed a few feeder mice (nothing else available here). At first I thought I could continuously keep mice, but the climate (hot and humid, especially in summer) and size of my flat (which is super tiny) here made it impossible so I quickly gave up. Nevertheless, feeder mice usually are bred for numbers so the does are left with lots of pups which end up being rather small and weaker than a typical show mouse. In just two generations, I've managed to significantly improve their size and health by reducing the number of pups in a litter to just 4 (a typical practice for most show mouse breeders, some keep up to 6 pups, depending on the line and their own judgment) and making sure the does were provided with a nutritious and balanced diet. The pups were just gorgeous, look at them, especially the agouti!
