This beautiful beast is one of our most recent rescues, formerly known as Naru, but more recently renamed Beyo, which means beloved in Arabic. As with all our street rescues we've had quite an adventure with this one. He was abandoned by his former owners and left alone to starve on the street where he became skinny as a skeleton and developed a severe skin infection in addition to fleas and other viruses. And we also heard rumors that he either had cancer or heartworm and that that's why his former owners abandoned him. So, we got him tested for both and thank goodness it wasn't cancer. But it was indeed heartworm, which is fatal if left untreated and usually involves a very long and arduous road to recovery. So we've been taking him to the big city where they have better technology, tests and treatment than our rural village. As you can imagine, all these trips and treatments have been very expensive so we are asking again for your support for sweet Beyo, seen here before and after coming home with us. Thanks in advance for your love and generosity!

We are looking for a foster or forever home for Fred. He is a sweet, sweet boy who loves walks and playing with other dogs and people. He has been vaccinated, sterilized and treated for the medical conditions he had. He is a very gentle, affectionate and calm pup who's about 6 months old. Please let us know if you are interested in fostering or adopting Fred. Thanks!

One of the hardest things about having a dog rescue is not being able to rescue all the dogs. We walk by dozens and dozens of dogs each day who need help, but we simply don't have the capacity to save them all because of financial, time and space constraints. But, when three different people in the community write you on the same morning asking for help for the same dog, and that dog looks like this, you make time because he doesn't have much to waste.

Meet Fred. Fred made his way to the front doors of a few different folks, crying in pain and begging for help. As you can see, he was in pretty bad shape and we didn't know if he was contagious. So we contacted our local vet who came out to pick him up and take him back to quarantine for testing. Turns out he has mange, which is a microscopic mite infestation that attacks dogs, usually young ones, whose immune systems are weak and undeveloped. So he just needs treatment for the mange, good nutrition, immune support and love, all of which he is getting at the vet along with his first round of vaccinations.

Can you help us help him please? We have a unique and wonderful situation in this case because one of the people who wrote us about him has actually offered to match the funds we raise and to foster Fred when he leaves the vet. Will you please help us raise half of what we need so the donor will match the funds? For our part, we just need to raise $325.

We and Fred thank you so much! 🐾💜🐾

We saw this sweet girl a couple of weeks ago on the streets of San Marcos. We started feeding her, loving her and beginning to try to understand her condition. She's in pretty bad shape and is likely in pretty severe pain. Her energy is low, but she still has a spark of brightness and hope in her sweet, sweet eyes.

So, we called the vet to come see her and he has diagnosed her with worms, conjunctivitis in both her eyes, sarcoptic mange (scabies), pyoderma (pus on her skin due to secondary bacterial and yeast infections) and malnutrition. Though this sounds bad it's actually relatively easy to recover from with the proper medicine and treatment. So, we just need help to cover the costs of that - only $156. And miraculously, a wonderful local person has taken her into his home, and will administer the medicines, provide her with much needed love, and take care of her going forward. He has named her Noni.

Will you please help us help Noni? Here's the link to the GoFundMe we created for her. It's just $156 we need so any amount is so appreciated. Thank you so much!

After becoming paralyzed in both of his hind legs, and a big trip to the city for surgery that was successful, we will be bringing Chispo home this weekend for physical therapy and rehabilitation. We're so excited this sweet soul dragged his broken body to us and that we were able to help him! Thank you to all you beautiful donors! 🐾🙏🐾

Hey dog lovers, although we've been casually rescuing dogs at Lake Atitlan, Guatemala for a couple years now, we're officially launching our dog sanctuary and rescue now. We will help dogs in need get treatment and forever homes and would be so grateful for your support! Thank you in advance for any form of support you can give us, whether it's financial, sharing our posts, opening your home to a sweet soul in need or just emojis and likes if that's what you can offer us right now. 🐾🙏🐾
