5 years ago we unloaded Kaloni from the trailer to her new home with us, and she collapsed on arrival. She was a frail, emaciated and exhausted horse with hepatitis, a lung infection and the worst case of sand impaction our vet had ever seen. The first vet who saw her told us not to waste any money and she wouldn’t make it. She was diagnosed with COPD and we thought we would only have a short time with her.
Slowly over time, with treatments and medicine, and with help from many of you, she became a different horse.

This year, the vet said her lungs have improved significantly and she is in fantastic health. She is around 22 now.

Kaloni has been a major inspiration for me since I met her. She has never let anything keep her down and refuses to give up.
I have never seen another like her.

I hope we have at least another 5 years in us, old girl ❤️

STOLEN SADDLES FROM SOUTH CORFU

Please keep an eye (and ear) out in case anyone is offering saddles for sale.
James was alerted to a break-in at our shed while I'm currently in the UK for work.

Whoever did this broke in through the back gate and then the tack room/shed window, I assume to avoid the front door due to the camera - and stole my saddles, all of my bridles, and my horse rugs (which I rely on to keep the rescue horses warm and dry for winter).

I’m offering a 300 euro reward for any information that leads to the return of the saddles. Please don't keep quiet if you know something.

I'm hoping very much that two of these saddles might be recovered, as they hold deep sentimental value:

* A vintage western saddle gifted to James’s mother by a friend who has since passed. The saddle was restored and then passed down to James on his 21st birthday, 5 years ago!

* An English synthetic saddle belonging to a dear friend, originally gifted by her grandfather and used for her beloved horse who is no longer with us

The other items area
A synthetic western saddle, and a range of leather pieces and several hackamore - bitless bridles and all of my headcollars !

The police have been notified, though they have not yet come to take fingerprints.

I’m exhausted from being targeted.

This was not a random passer-by - it's someone who knows about horses and tack, and it is someone who knows the layout of the yard and where I keep my things.

They intentionally left my older/less useful saddles, my helmets and boots, my dirt bike and a large solar panel.

I feel sick to my stomach and extremely upset, and I will not be letting this go unanswered.
