Stage 19 of the Tour de France has been shortened due to a nodular dermatitis outbreak in cattle near the Col des Saisies. The affected herd was culled, and the route was adjusted to avoid the area. The original stage was 129.9km, but it has been reduced to 95km. Two climbs, including the Col des Saisies, have been removed from the route.

Canada is taking a major step forward in bolstering its emergency preparedness for livestock disease outbreaks with the creation of a dedicated national foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) vaccine bank. The initiative was led by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA). According to CFIA, having a domestic supply of emergency-use FMD vaccines will be critical for early response and containment, potentially reducing both the spread and duration of an outbreak. This effort aligns with broader national strategies focused on disease surveillance, biosecurity, and strict import regulations, all of which help maintain Canada’s FMD-free status—unchanged since 1952.
(Ο Καναδάς έκανε ένα βήμα για να να ενισχύσει την ετοιμότητα έκτακτης ανάγκης για τις επιδημίες των νοσημάτων στα ζώα, με την δημιουργία μιας εθνικής τράπεζας εμβολίων για τον αφθώδη πυρετό.
