Our first month is over, and the excursions have begun and in full swing!

May 2026 Groups - thank you to Dolphin / TUI / Jet2 for organising the Dog walking, puppy cuddling and Cookery Experience at Calma.

Super giving Friday 🤸‍♀️🐶♥️ thank you to Paul for a car boot full of cleaning products, Tom & Andrew, and Nadine & Patrick for their bag of goodies. Thank you to Winnie, Auntie Susanne and Bente for the doggie treats, gifts, coffee and biscuits (although I think has hidden them) 🤣😂 and your generous donation.

At Skiathos Welfare Association volunteers come and go, we meet so many throughout the year, some ok, some good, some excellent and some not so good. 😬

Edmund and Zuzanna from Norway are two very special volunteers, they arrived January 2026 and have made such an impact…….not just being proactive, hard working, and dedicated but their total respect for the dogs.

Ed and Zuzanna worked with the big dogs and some can be temperamental, have issues, can’t be touched etc, but they were both patient, listened to the team, observed the dog’s behaviour and respected the boundaries!

Zuzanna being a runner, made it her mission to run with several of the dogs, especially the setters and hounds to burn off that excess energy and Ed helped Vince and Simon, maintain the pens and well as the daily tasks.

They are a fundamental part of the team, and we wouldn’t be where we are today without them. In five months we have watched their confidence grow, and they are a valued part of what has now become ‘our dog family’ 🥰

As we said our goodbyes yesterday, we thank them for everything and we look forward to seeing them return soon 🙏🤞🐶♥️

Stephen Askin, has won’t our hearts. ♥️

He has been volunteering almost everyday of his two week holiday, and already booked his next trip to help and support us.

Hard working, dedicated, punctual and can talk until the rabbits come home and he even managed to win Mr Pickles over 😂🤣

We thank you and appreciate your hard work and look forward to seeing you again soon 😎🐶♥️
