Quality Systems and Product Development Manager
Job Summary:
The Quality Systems and Product Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of quality management systems (QMS) while leading product development initiatives. This role ensures compliance with industry regulations, enhances product quality, and drives innovation to meet customer expectations.
1. Overview and actively manage the whole Quality/Safety Management system, basic elements are listed below
• Ensuring that products meet certain regulations and acceptable standards
• Product Quality (complaints management internally and externally, quality sampling, QAS, New Product development)
• Product Safety (HACCP, Supplier Audits)
• Brand integrity, Adulteration, Food Fraud (VACCP, TACCP)
• Ethical trading (SEDEX, Ethical audit)
• Active participation in Health and Safety
• Employee training
• Animal Welfare
• Environmental issues
• Legal & Scientific. New legislation monitoring (EU, US, etc.). Developments in Food Science, Packaging, Agriculture etc.
• Excellent knowledge of microbiological and physicochemical analyses.
• Active participation in waste management
• Preparing and conducting GMP Audits
• Conducting internal audits
• Conducting external audits
• Analyzing all non-conformances and conducting gap analysis with corrective plan (CAPA)
• Very strong analytical skills
• Very strong multi-tasking skills
2. Actively engage with
• Customer and supplier technical management and correspondence to address customer specific requirements
• Setting and monitoring objectives and KPIs and preparing/presenting weekly and monthly reports
• Factory and technical improvements
• Company certifications, actively manage and decide with the management
• Product specifications – generate, improve and keep up to date
3. Additional tasks
• New product development (NPD) and extended Product Development (EPD) – evolution of current SKUs and product line extensions
Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor’s in Food Science
• Minimum 15 years of experience in food manufacturing, preferably in a similar role in a dairy industry
• Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance, quality standards, and certifications
• Experience in new product development, including formulation and process scale-up
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities
• Proficiency in data analysis and quality control tools
