GOOD MORNING FROM OUR HAPPY AROWBOY!

Obviously, he is so much better - mentally alone! Since we could take him out from his previous home.

instructed the grooms to apply the Shea butter intensively on his excema and to take off dead skin- already 2 days later it shows effects!! She’s bringing him oils soon as well ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Our freshly shared Shea butter was still liquid this morning and Derick used the opportunity to massage it in straight ahead 🧡

More insights in our collaboration with the University of Ghana, and the research team of Dr. Enoch DVM with his students from veterinary medicine and biology.

Their sampling is on the transmission of parasites between humans and horses.

Here, we are at one of the saddest places horses live: a dumping site at Kokribite, where several horses are kept and face open saddle sores from constant beach riding and overall neglect of care.

We have been in exchange with the owner for a long time. We were heartbroken to receive notice from our groom, Cudjo, that his white stallion had already passed away. This is the reality we face: without animal rights, we are not allowed to confiscate a horse in a life-threatening situation. Our only recourse is patience and negotiations with the owners.

In the next post, we will show you how the owner of the two stallions at this place showed some change of mindset after our interventions. One of his horses is already out of this horrific place.

Thank you to everyone for supporting us!
More than ever, we need more sponsors to continue our rescue work and eventually make it sustainable with our own land.

WE ARE HAPPY TO GET IN TOUCH!!
Any amount is highly appreciated.

In care, we continue to ban the violence❤️

More in the next posts.

Today was a rather sad meeting - 💔
Moses was informed that he needs to move his horses asap. Where he keeps his horses for over more than 7 years already, is occupied land. Moses father has been working at this place before. Since he moved@there with his horses, Moses has taken good care of this part of beach land, cleared and weeded it, investors became aware and interested.

The only place he can move his horses to is his family home, where horses don’t have the necessary facilities either, and earning money with his riding school will become a true challenge.

Moses story is just another precious example why we urgently need sponsors for our own land to offer sustainable future for Accras beach horses!! 🐴💔

MORE SOON!!

🐎Where do horses even live? That’s is exactly what we like to show you more, for you to understand the importance of gaining sponsorship for safe place for all these vulnerable stables around Accras coast line.

This place is well kept, due to professionalism and care of - but they are facing the ongoing constructions straight in front of them.

We don’t give up until we find our safe heaven, to welcome guests and share knowledge on holistic care 💎🐎🌿

The White Stallion: Another Story of Hope and Challenges

When Abu, a motorcycle rider from Kokrobite, spotted a weak, abandoned white stallion, he called us for help. The horse was suffering from a severe saddle sore, dehydration, and malnutrition. With the help of neighbors, water, and plantain peels, we saw small signs of recovery. Concerned about colic, we consulted our colleague and our vet Enoch and gave him vegetable oil to aid digestion. Groom Isaak volunteered to monitor the horse while we planned next steps.

However, the situation escalated when the owner, under drug influence and aggressive, appeared. He forced the stallion to carry him despite the horse’s pain. We followed them to a dumping site at the beach, where other distressed horses were kept.

This highlights the urgent need for stronger animal welfare laws in Ghana, safe facilities for horses (and other animals), and support for struggling grooms. Without addressing these systemic issues, the cycle of neglect continues.

With support, we’re working to create sustainable solutions by networking, sharing knowledge, and listening to the needs of those on the ground. Updates to follow— only together, we can make a difference. We are grateful for all our supporters 🐎🧡
