🌹HORSE LOVER NEEDED TO KEEP OUR PLACE IN LANGMA RUNNING !🌹

Please share this if you have contacts to volunteers around Accra, Kokrobite who wish to care for horses!

Arrowboy is in Langma, Kokrobite and we tried our best to find reliable caretakers for him, to let our young Merlin join him soon. Our last hope will be to find dedicated volunteers. Otherwise we need to give him and Merlin our for adoption to new homes.

Economy is challenging for everyone and hustling is the everyday. Professional and reliable grooms are scare. People prefer short term deals, street markets or keep their jobs as motorcycle drivers what might be more attractive than taking responsibility for a lower NGO salary. We completely understand.

Nevertheless - caring is sharing, you might know someone dedicated to horses or who can even imagine to adopt Arrowboy fully.

🌱 This made our day - our horses Boga and Mr Key on their healing journey in such relaxed spirit ❤️‍🩹🐴

We are deeply grateful for Anoushka Weil and her team for dedicated care since their arrival at her stables.

They both do so much better already, gradually gaining first weight because of best nutrition four times daily in appropriate portions, plus fresh grass 🌱💚

Now it’s urgent we can pace an order for special supplements 🙏🏽🐴
Who can help? Or is there any one of our friends coming soon to Accra and can take this into their luggage 🧳?

Mr Key and Boga enjoy their new feeding plan, which includes iron supplements.

The next days we receive neem oil and chlorhexidine shampoo for tick prevention and expect our Veterinarian Enoch for check up on both horses.

Costs are overwhelming and far beyond our budget.

✨ Compassionate people with a genuine sense for horses, like Andrews, are precious and hard to find. ✨

We met Andrews last year during our interactions with the beach horses living near a dumping site along the coast (see earlier posts). He is one of their caretakers and immediately stood out for his kindness, his deep connection with the horses, and his eagerness to learn.

Andrews has started taking Arrowboy to the beach, and we hope to involve him more closely in our fieldwork. 💛

🧡YES. There are good news to share too - look at our new rescue Arrowboy, who arrived here skinny in bad shape! Now running every morning after only few weeks in our care in Langma, supervised by Eva Ippendorf. The yard is still under construction and you can help I to get last phases done - to offer a second horse a home and be company for Arrowboy. It is around this area that we try to find leased land for Moses horses too.

💔🐴 SOS! Moses place is demolished and 10 horses had to be moved to the bushes, the first is already injured from sharp garbage 💔! If you have or know of land in or around Accra that could offer these horses a safe haven, reach out. ❤️‍🩹

This area was also the site of a farrier station. A place Moses had called home for over 20 years, where he cared for his horses with love. It wasn’t official, but he was welcomed—clearing the once overgrown land with his father, a Laboma Beach security guard. Now, due to relentless construction, he’s been forced to leave. The land is leveled, and in desperation, Moses has moved his 10 horses into an unsafe, mosquito-infested bush filled with glass and metal debris.

A place Moses had called home for over 20 years, where he cared for his horses with love, the place of the farrier station is no more 💔. It wasn’t official, but he was accepted—clearing the once overgrown land where his father, a Laboma Beach security guard, was working. Moses was building up successfully his riding school over years at Laboma Beach and is a role model for many with his expertise on horses. Now, due to relentless construction, he’s been forced to leave. The land is leveled, and in desperation, Moses has moved his 10 horses into an unsafe, mosquito-infested bush filled with glass and metal debris.
