Tiny Gigi in a big box en route to Delhi/Bangalore

We often face challenges with students adopting - or even buying - dogs during their stay here. While we always explain that it can be very difficult to take pets with them after their studies end, and recommend fostering as a better alternative, we still frequently receive last-minute messages from students who are leaving in just a few days or weeks and don't know what to do with their pets.

But Gigi’s story is the beautiful exception.

She was adopted by a medical student from India who gave her all the love and care she needed. He planned ahead, raised the necessary funds, and made sure everything was in place. After five years of studying in Georgia, he’s now returned home, with Gigi by his side.

We helped with papers and transport to the airport, and were very happy to be able to give a big hug to this goofy girl before she left.

Just look at her, patiently waiting for her flight to her new life near Bangalore!

Gigi's sister, Dzazi is still with us.
Please write us if you are interested in adopting Dzazi, or support her by donating.

Look at our Khinkali (r) getting her orthopedic braces to help her with her movement.

She had multiple injuries (probably was hit by a car) and she lived by a bakery. Khachapuri and baked goods diet didn't do the best for her figure and the extra weight put more strain on her injured legs and joints.
Now she is living happily in Germany, getting all the help she needs.

Last week, we introduced you to many of our new puppies and babies.
But while we’ve been celebrating the little ones, we don’t want anyone to forget about our “oldies.”

Blackie is one of the oldest dogs in our care, and without a doubt, the wisest.
He may not have the kind of looks that make people rush to adopt - but inside, Blackie is still a joyful, playful pup.

Despite his age and some leg troubles, he still bounces around with excitement when he sees a familiar face. He craves closeness and connection. He is, without exaggeration, the most loyal soul we know.

Two years ago, while out on a walk, Blackie was mistakenly picked up by the municipality. No one checked his microchip. Instead, they released him miles away in Gladni, far from the safety of the shelter.
Despite all our efforts, we could not find him, instead, he found us.
It took him over six months, but Blackie made the incredible journey home. Alone. Navigating the dangers of the city.
He arrived at our gate on Valentine’s Day.
That’s the kind of dog he is.

Blackie also loves car rides - he’s the perfect co-pilot, happy to sit in the passenger seat and watch the road with you.

Yes, he’s older. But he still has good years ahead—and all he wants is to share them with someone.
He doesn’t ask for much: a soft bed and your presence nearby.

If you have a little space in your home and heart, Blackie will fill it with loyalty, gentleness, and quiet joy.
Please contact us if you think you might be his person.

Neutering day - this time only boys!
We can't say they were particularly positive going into it, but all went well, and that means hundreds of unwanted pups prevented.

It’s not an easy task to be the sole survivor of a litter.
Wonderful Hailey isn’t taking that lightly. After beating distemper, coronavirus, and parvovirus, she sometimes seems almost philosophical.

Sometimes, we see her pause for a moment — as if she’s pondering where all her sisters are. Or maybe she’s trying to make sense of what happened to her during those two whirlwind weeks — hooked up to IVs, poked and prodded with injections, in pain and confusion.

Maybe those moments are remnants of the distemper, or the seizures, that left her brain wired just a little differently. We’ll never know for sure.

What we do know is that Hailey, in every other way, is just like any other pup: friendly, goofy, playful, curious. But there’s always a tiny touch of seriousness to her — as if she’s trying to prove something. That she was worth saving. That it wasn’t a mistake she survived.

She’s already learning to sit, and not just for food. She’s careful and gentle around other dogs, always respectful of their boundaries. She never oversteps, never becomes a nuisance.
She doesn’t bark at night. She sleeps well. She loves to chew — but only on things she’s allowed to.

She’s never “too much.” She’s just right.

Hailey is a survivor.

The three little bandits are doing very well so far.
Every day that passes with good appetite and no signs of diarrhea feels like a marathon won, with such tiny babies.

We are grateful to everyone supporting them. Any donation, big or small, goes a long way!

We are still learning their characters, so they don't have names yet.
We welcome any suggestions here! All boys :)

🚨 URGENT HELP NEEDED 🚨

These tiny babies were just left at Lisi. 💔
Our shelter is completely full, so right now they are living just outside our premises. They have a small house, food, clean bowls, and are being closely monitored. Most importantly, they are safe and loved — but this is only temporary.

They’ve received their first vaccine, but the next two weeks are critical for their health and survival.

We are urgently looking for a temporary foster or a forever home for them.
They are all boys, and will be small medium (rather small) dogs, now they are tiny, at two months of age only around 2.5kg or less.

If you can’t foster or adopt, please consider donating — every little bit helps us keep them safe. 🙏

We are also exploring paid temporary housing options until they are fully vaccinated.
But to do that, we also need funds.

🌞🐶 Heat Alert 🐾💧

Our rescue pups are lucky — not only do they have fresh water, they even get little paddling pools to cool off in! 🛁❤️

But thousands of stray dogs are struggling in this intense heat. You can help, and it costs nothing.

💧 Place a bowl of clean water outside your home, shop, or building site.
🐾 It doesn’t have to be fancy — a plastic plate or the bottom of a bottle works just fine.
🚨 In extreme temperatures, this simple act can save lives.

🐾 Very Special Request for a Very Special Boy! 🐾

Meet Teddy, a sweet soul with a shy heart 💛

Teddy grew up as a free-roaming pup with his siblings, living life on the outskirts without much human contact. Sadly, his brother was recently hit by a car, and we’re determined to keep Teddy safe. 💔

To do that, we’re urgently looking for a foster home for at least a month (maximum two), while we prepare his travel documents so he can find a forever home abroad. 🌍

✨ Teddy is gentle, loving, and never aggressive. He’s scared of the unfamiliar but has no fear aggression or any other similar behavioural issues - he gets startled and prefers to hide when he is scared.
✨ He needs a calm, consistent routine and daily city walks to learn the sounds, sights, and smells of the world he’s never known.
✨ In return, he’ll be the easiest roommate you’ve ever had - happy to curl up on your couch or nap peacefully in the corner, just keeping you company.

Please help us help Teddy take his first steps into this big, new world. If you can foster, or know someone who can, reach out. 💌

Let’s give this sweet boy the second chance he deserves. 🐶💕
