A huge thank you to this wonderful supporter, who recently lost a beloved dog and chose to turn that sadness into something positive.

After reaching out to ask what our shelter needed most, they ordered and delivered food for our residents in honor of their pup.

We would also like to thank everyone who comes to walk our dogs, especially those who arrive with a bag of food or other donations as well.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps us keep our dogs happy, healthy, and well-fed.

🎬 "Dog Run"

Buryatia is the first region in Russia to legalize the killing of homeless animals. Animal rights activists come to the rescue, registering dogs under their own names and sending them to other regions of Russia where the law on animal euthanasia is not yet in effect. The documentary "Dog Run" tells the story of these volunteers.

🎬 "The Last Camp"

The film "The Last Camp" tells the story of the aftermath of one of the largest man-made disasters on the Black Sea, after the wreck of the Volgoneft tankers.

JAY IS BACK. 💔

Not because he did anything wrong.

Just a few months after being adopted, Jay has found himself back at the shelter. Sadly, it's a story we know all too well. Life changes. Studies become full-time jobs, people move and the dog is the one who pays the price.

This is exactly why we encourage students and anyone in a temporary stage of life to foster rather than adopt. Fostering gives a dog the love and comfort of a home while allowing us to continue searching for their forever family.

Thankfully, we always keep in touch with our adopters and were able to bring Jay safely back before he ended up on the streets. But every failed adoption means starting from scratch again, while another dog waits even longer for the home they deserve.

If you're not ready for a lifelong commitment, please consider fostering instead.

We are already beyond capacity and simply can't keep up with feeding and caring for the growing number of dogs without your help. Every returned dog means one more mouth to feed and one more life depending on your kindness.

Although Goldie started off as a mangy dirty pup from a Gori roadside station, she doesn't let her humble beginnings define her attitude and is living it up in Germany with her mum, Alina (Goldie's brother, Georgie, lives in Venice Beach, Cal.)
