Hello everyone! This is Sabaduri Horseback 🐴 Thought i’d tell you a little bit about us 😊 I am Giga, a Khevsur that lives in Ertso-Tianeti and i make horseback riding tours near Sabaduri forest and all over Georgia for many years now. At first, making tours was a way to have some income but as the time went by, horses became inseparable part of my life! About 5 years ago i made a goal for myself- i decided to find very rare examples of our cherished caucasian horses in all regions of Georgia and ever since i am trying to keep the ancient genes alive. I felt the urgent need to do so because the likes of real caucasian horses seemed to be endangered and very hard to find! My friends and family have helped dearly on this adventurous journey and by now we have a herd of 60 horses! But the story doesn’t end here…😄 Since the Caucasian horses have very enduring nature, strong physical qualities and extraordinary abilities to move in the mountains on rocky and rough narrow paths as we know historically - we decided to give these horses even more opportunities to show what they are capable of and with that reason we managed unimaginable! We held the very first international Endurance race on 45km with the highest standards in the spring of 2024 in Georgia! 5 extremely experienced German veterinarians and judges were present on the race and everything was done in highest quality - organized races, numbered participants, separate starts, vet checks, counting time of each participant and many more… Since this direction of equestrian sports was very new to Georgians, our German friends held a 3 hour long training session explaining all of the rules and tips of Endurance riding to the participants in the previous day. I am very proud to say that everything went as good as it could and we plan to get better and better by next events! That’s not all! Who do you think won the 1st prize???… A Caucasian horse!!! Our dear Bazi had the best and fastest results in both pace and condition, ridden by a girl on 45km! As such, we became the champions of this unforgettable event - the first Georgian Endurance riding held at Bazaleti lake! We are beyond happy that our hopes were proven to be right about Caucasian horses! They are very capable to compete on such international events with the right training and knowledge! Every year in the spring i am herding the horses to the mountains, in autumn i bring them back to the lowlands where they spend the whole winter. On 9th October i will start the annual horse herding to the lowlands, from Shatili to Artani valley in Ertso-Tianeti, 170km in total, making it 5 days of migration. Experienced riders are welcome to participate in this ancient tradition of herding horses, you will have the possibility to ride our athletic Caucasian horses, maybe the next champions of endurance even!👀🤭 i promise you unforgettable sights of our caucasian horses, herd, foals.
