Something I’ve been reflecting on lately is how different it feels working for yourself.
In every job I’ve had before, I’ve always been part of a team. There was always someone to bounce ideas off, share responsibilities with, celebrate the good days, and help carry the difficult ones.
Running my own business is one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done, but it can also feel quite lonely at times. Every decision, every responsibility, every challenge and every success sits with you. When you work alone, there’s a lot more space for your own thoughts, both the positive ones that remind you how far you’ve come, and the negative ones that can sometimes make you question yourself.
What this journey has taught me, though, is that I’m stronger than I ever gave myself credit for. It’s shown me resilience, determination, patience and confidence that I didn’t even realise I had. There have been days when I’ve felt overwhelmed, but I’ve always found a way through.
Most of all, this job has made me incredibly grateful. Grateful for every client who trusts me with their dogs, for every kind word, recommendation and booking, and for the opportunity to do something I genuinely love every day.
Some days are easier than others, but looking back, I’m proud of the person this journey is helping me become. ❤️🐾
