Love dolphins? You don't need to leave the UK to see them - here are the best places to spot them on our shores 👇

🐬 Moray Firth - Join a dolphin-watching tour from places like Cromarty, Avoch, or Chanonry Point.

🐬 Cardigan Bay - This bay hosts a resident population of around 300 bottlenose dolphins, often visible near the shoreline.

🐬 Cornwall - Head to areas like Land’s End, Porthcurno, and Cape Cornwall - don't forget your binoculars!

🐬 The Hebrides - These islands, off the west coast of Scotland, offer some of the UK's most spectacular marine wildlife experiences.

In the animal kingdom, fathers aren't always known for playing an active role but these guys are here to prove otherwise:

🪸 Seahorses: Males give birth - after the female transfers her eggs into his pouch, the male incubates them, sometimes hundreds at a time, until they’re ready to be released into the ocean.⁣

🦁 Lions: ⁣In prides, dominant males defend their group, including cubs, from rival males. Some fathers also play with their cubs, building bonds and teaching them important social behaviours.⁣

🐸 Darwin’s frog: Once the eggs hatch, the male carries the tiny tadpoles in his mouth or vocal sac until they’re fully developed.⁣

🐧 Emperor penguins: After the female lays a single egg, she returns to the sea to feed, while the male keeps the egg warm by balancing it on his feet for two full months in sub-zero temperatures.⁣

🐓 Chickens: Roosters are known to guard hens and chicks from predators, sounding alarm calls and physically defending them when needed. ⁣

These facts remind us that by protecting habitats, we're protecting families like these 🧡

Remember Baloo, the brown bear who has spent 25 years alone in a cage at a ski resort in Romania?

We have hopeful news to share 🐻✨

Our team recently travelled to Romania and met with Baloo's owner to discuss his future. After careful negotiations, the owner indicated they are open to working with us.

This is a really positive step and we remain in contact with Baloo's owner, with the aim of looking at improvements to the bear's well-being and possible next steps for his future.

Thank you to everyone for standing with us and supporting Baloo, please know we are doing all we can to help give him the life he deserves.

We will keep you updated on any further progress.

These are the moments former dancing monkeys Unyil, Jono Wanto, Panjul, Boy and Tuni took their first steps back to freedom and the wild lives they deserve.

This milestone marks the end of years of suffering in captivity where they were cruelly forced to perform tricks to entertain tourists and shoppers on the streets.

The macaques were initially rescued in October 2024 and spent 18 months in Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN)’s rehabilitation centre where they received medical treatments and were taught how to survive in the wild.

Now, they can finally live their lives where they belong, in their new home - a protected island that provides an ideal and safe habitat with tropical forests, coastal forests, mangroves, and no human settlements. 🧡🐒
