Crayke Cattery

Crayke Cattery Crayke Cattery is a new purpose built cattery located between Easingwold and Crayke. To book or View Welcome to Crayke Cattery, Crayke, York, N. Yorks, YO61 4TL.

Tel 07473 380394 or 01347 821345. Run and owned by Gill and Steve Punton. Crayke Cattery is set in a tranquil location between the pretty village of Crayke and the ancient market town of Easingwold, in what is classed as an area of outstanding natural beauty. We are just ten miles North of the historic city of York and eight miles South of Thirsk, home of the famous author and vet, James Herriot.

We are lucky enough to have a few acres of land including some woodland. The Cattery is sited facing into the wood giving the cats that are boarding with us lots of wildlife to watch and entertain them. We are a cat only establishment offering peace and quiet to our more timid guests. The Cattery is fully secured and we live on site so we can give the cats our full attention. Crayke Cattery has been designed and constructed to Feline Advisory Bureau standards and where ever possible we have added some extra comforts along the way. The design of the Cattery has the added benefit of removable clear polycarbonate cladding which, during the winter months, keeps the elements out and the heat in whilst still allowing the cats to see outside. The cladding is removed in late spring allowing our feline guests to enjoy the weather of the summer months. Each pen has a cosy, heated indoor chalet with a window overlooking their own outdoor run. The run and the chalet are easily accessible as and when the cat chooses. Each run has viewing shelves, a scratch post, a hammock and toys to enrich the environment. We have single, double and family pens. All are spacious with a sneeze barrier between each pen. We have twenty one pens in total. In case of illness we have an isolation unit of two pens sited away from the main Cattery. This allows us to keep an eye on our patient whilst reducing the risk of cross contamination to our other residents. Our aim is to provide a comfortable, stress free and safe stay for the cats in our care allowing Mums and Dads to leave their cats with us in confidence and without worry. We are an animal loving family with our own cat Lily and our two little dogs Bertie and Teddy. Before leaving to run Crayke Cattery I worked for the Minster Veterinary Practice in York for twenty two years. I feel the experience I gained in all that time stands me in good stead to run the Cattery. My husband has been a builder for the last thirty years and has constructed the cattery to a high standard. We welcome people coming to view before booking. We also cater for rabbits and guinea pigs.

This is little Podge, she's 17 years old. She's a little bit deaf and she has other old lady problems which we are not going mention to save her modesty. She was having a lovely sleep on her shelf.

Minze, Juno and Nyx are having a lovely relaxing time together in their pen.

Minster Vets is saying goodbye to one of our longest serving receptionists, Gill Punton.
Throughout her 22-year career at Minster, Gill has encountered racoons, bearded dragons and even armadillos.
However, she won’t be saying goodbye to pets just yet, as her new venture will see her and husband Steve running a cattery in Crayke, near York.
Everyone here at Minster wishes Gill and Steve the best of luck!

Flowers from Sue Curtis and Gloria Stead. Lovely clients that have become friends over the years.
