π‘HOT WEATHER WARNING FOR PET OWNERSπ‘
With temperatures set to soar across the UK this week, we are urging pet owners to take extra care to keep animals safe in the heat.
Our pets can quickly become dangerously overheated, and heatstroke can turn life-threatening in a very short time
Here are some simple ways to protect your pets this weekend, and the next week:
π§ Always provide fresh drinking water
π³ Keep pets in shaded, well-ventilated areas
π Never leave pets in cars
π Walk dogs early morning or later evening
πΎ Avoid hot pavements
π§ Use cooling mats, damp towels or paddling pools
Watch for signs of heatstroke: excessive panting, drooling, vomiting, lethargy or collapse
Flat-faced breeds, older pets and overweight animals are especially vulnerable in warm weather.
If you suspect heatstroke, move your pet somewhere cool, offer water and contact us immediately.
Please help spread the message and keep our furry friends safe this week π£
