Now that the Cheltenham Festival hangover has gone hopefully Betprime punters can look forward to another profitable flat season. As always we will be giving plenty of tips but I will also be discussing on what to look out for on the flat to try and get an edge over the bookmakers as for me it's no good just looking at the form and finding out what the best horse is. Well what a week it's been at Cheltenham and despite a testing few days for us here at Betprime we managed to come out of the festival with a nice profit. But today it's back to normality but in fairness there's quite a few good races this afternoon but as always I'm looking to the big handicap for some value, here are my thoughts... Well it's the last day of the Cheltenham Festival and once again it's been a good one. The Irish are certainly dominating the meeting and as Nick Luck said on RUK keeping it simple with Gordon Elliot and Willie Mullins has been the way to go. Yesterday was a great day for the Irish and I think it could be another good day for them. Yesterday however was a good start for Betprime punters yesterday with Presenting Percy but our handicap selections didn't quite hit the frame and hopefully we will get closer today. Yesterday's racing was top class and it wasn't certainly up and down for us at Betprime but that last race was a pleasure to watch as all our selections hitting the frame including the winner Mister Whitaker, and it's always good to see a flat trainer nicking some big jump race prize money in my opinion. Anyway onto today the ground has improved to soft heavy in places, however today's card for me doesn't get me that excited as their are plenty of races that I won't be playing in this afternoon, but it's still going to be great and here are my thoughts... Well it's that time again. Money will be lost money will be won but after all it is the Cheltenham Festival and all winter this is what we'eve been waiting for. The ground however is the softest as it has been for 26 years and therefore that has changed my selections slightly but anyway here are my thoughts... Today's racing isn't certainly my cup of tea with a few big field handicaps rather than this small field rubbish that we have to deal with on a weekly basis. Of course plenty of trainers who have horses that are entered at Cheltenham that are running today will want to run well especially in the Imperial Cup given that there is a bonus on offer for winning it and then going onto winning at Cheltenham. So with only a dew days left until the start of the Cheltenham Festival I'm reading myself for a great four days of sport and hopefully win us all some money in the process. If you are a regular reader of Betprime then you may have seen that I have approached this year's festival slightly differently, as I have backed the horses that are pretty much nailed on to run in certain races early so that we're not waiting till the day as I think there isn't much value around on the day nowadays. With less than eight days to go until the Cheltenham Festival that's where everyone's attention is focused. However the beast from the east certainly put a spanner in the works last week and for a change where not sure whether the meeting will start on good ground. On the other hand the forecast is good the the remainder of the run up to Cheltenham and therefore we could still end up getting the customary Good To Soft that we are all used to on the first day. Tomorrow's racing is good again from mainly Kempton and Newcastle, and to add a bit of variety we have Lingfield on the All Weather with their highlight been the Winter Derby in which Aidan O'Brien trains the favourite. However I don't bother that much with the all weather these days but I'm happy to see that there's a sixteen runner handicap at Newcastle tomorrow and that's the race I'm focusing on here...
