GOOD MORNING EVERYONE – GET READY FOR A SAD TALE 😞 - but hopefully one of optimism and a huge amount of hope because someone will end up with a cat who will show them so much love when she feels safe. That feeling will be so rewarding.

We took into our care an 11 year old tortoiseshell cat earlier this year – she was TOTALLY TERRIFIED AND TRAUMATISED.

Her former owner loved her very much indeed but since she had had a young child then this beautiful cat really wasn't coping at all and was desperately unhappy and, much as her owner did not want to part with her as she loved her unconditionally and absolutely, she couldn't have Poppy being so unhappy.

She had had Poppy since Poppy was a kitten but sadly (through absolutely no fault of her previous owner) Poppy had witnessed lots of things she shouldn't have witnessed and so was very nervous and scared as a result.

Cats like Poppy need putting back together again. They need love and understanding and above all, patience and time.

She is now up to date with her vaccinations, she is spayed and chipped and she has had a dental so is good to go.

Poppy's fear manifested itself in her being quite angry at first but now, thanks to the outstanding love and care that our amazing foster carers give to every cat who comes into our care, she is lovely and relaxed in her foster home and very sweet but when someone visits her who she doesn't know, she is likely to feel scared again.

HOWEVER we have to say that when she moves to another home she WILL undoubtedly be really scared at first and NEEDS A SPECIAL PERSON WHO WILL GIVE HER TIME TO FEEL SAFE AND SETTLED.

She's a lovely cat but she does need someone who understands that she may not present that way initially but once she does, the rewards will be enormous.
