Good morning everyone!
Just thought I would pop on to let you all know that I am now officially on maternity leave! With only 9 weeks left (hopefully) until our little baby girl arrives it was for the best to go on maternity a lot earlier than expected. I have a few things that I need to clear up with you all as I’ve heard all sorts of rumours so please have a little read to understand my decisions.
First things first, my business Tufty Paws Dog Grooming is and always has been my business and my business only. It has never and never ever will be co-owned, a shared business, sold on or anything else. It will always be my business name so if you hear any different please know that I have not sold my business to anyone. The only close thing I’ve ever had to sharing a business was when I had Jess from Tangles Grooming renting a table from my unit until she has made up her own client base to go out alone under her own name, a complete separate business to mine. (You can find Jess in Keevil Tangles Dog Grooming please note Jess is currently in Hawaii and will not be able to answer her phone but you can book online with her through her page but remember she isn’t grooming in Shaw anymore)
My plans- Currently I only know what I’m doing for the next few months so let me tell you below. Unfortunately as most of you know I have now closed the salon at Church Farm and have handed back the unit to the landlord meaning this salon will not be opening back up after my maternity. Here’s a few reasons why, the biggest being with rent and utilities becoming outrageously high there was just absolutely no way I could afford to enjoy time off with my first baby and keep the unit on that and some issues with it all anyway but let’s not get in to that. Secondly over the next year myself and Matt have some huge changes and events coming our way. For the past year and a half we have been trying to move house which has been a nightmare but we’ve finally picked up the keys this past week and renovation work will be starting soon, I have kept my grooming equipment and my table just incase I decide to go back into grooming in the distant future but this would be from our new home which is not too local to Melksham, it is about 45-60 minutes away, another reason for my decision to close the salon. I couldn’t justify driving every day to work when I have a baby, as most parents know if anything was to happen being at work an hour away is not going to work well.
We are also getting married in May! So not only are we welcoming our first baby into our little family, we are also taking on a huge renovation project to be our family home and we are getting married! Talk about doing things all at once!
So with all that being said I cannot tell you what my plans are after maternity, I will be keeping this page, my business name etc and I’ll let you all know when our baby arrives.

So thank you all so very much for all of the continued support over the last 9 years, from my training to the present day. I have had some amazing memories with your dogs, dog sitting and walking as well as grooming, some dogs I’ve had with me since they were puppies and seeing them grow into the beautiful fur babies they are today has been such a pleasure. We’ve also lost a few over rainbow bridge 🌈 I’ve been through it all with you. Thank you for all of the baby gifts, chocolate, cards, flowers 💐 and everything in between. I can assure you all that the chocolates have gone down a treat and have kept me going the past few weeks 🤭
Now time to sit back and enjoy some peace and quiet, catch up on some missed sleep and enjoy eating food before this baby arrives!
