Today I met the lovely Tommy, this cheeky little Welsh would take his owner hours to load at times. After working with Tommy and showing his owner the best way to deal with his tricks to avoid being loaded, they have both become more confident in the loading process resulting in a happy owner and happy pony.
It's just as important to have your horse/pony walk calmly out of the trailer and be asked to stand on the ramp before coming off completely, if not this can sometimes resort to barging to run off.
As Tommy is a child's pony, this process is good for him to get into the habit of doing.

This afternoon I worked with the beautiful Ester.
Ester can go through phases where she just shuts down and resorts to planting and rearing to avoid being loaded, this picture was sent to me by Ester's lovely owner of how far she could get Ester on the lorry after trying for over an hour.
The video in the comments is Ester's owner loading her happily and confidently after I'd worked with her.
Good girl Ester ♥

Today I worked with Lego, a beautiful 3yr old Arab.
Lego had lost his confidence with loading and had taken to planting and rearing to avoid going in the trailer, his owner had said he could sometimes take up to over an hour to load.
After working with Lego and letting him in a quiet manner figure it out, he started to load calmly and confidently.
Lego's owner was worried he wouldn't load after being driven, so we went for a drive around the block, once back he walked out the trailer quietly and then reloaded straight away.

Unfortunately I didn't manage to get any video's of his rearing and planting but here's a video of the end result.

Good boy Lego 💙

On Monday I was in Cheltenham meeting the lovely Alfie who was previously imported from Spain. Alfie had always traveled well until recently, he had a bad experience traveling and since then started to refuse to load and would reverse off the trailer. Alfie's owner had tryed everything and even had friends trying to help, so she contacted me.

In the first video is some of the behavior that Alfie showed, reversing out of the lorry.

In the second video is Alfie's owner loading him after I had worked with him.

God boy Alfie 💙

I worked with Poppy today a lovely mare that has just recovered from having a kissing spine operation. Poppy used to load really well but lately had started planting her feet and running off the box backwards resulting with her rearing vertically and in some cases the worst she would do is throw herself over backwards. It is unknown if this behaviour started due to being pain related but then continued with habit.
After working with Poppy and her showing me how impressive her rearing could be, she soon settled and ended up loaded calmly.
Another happy owner and more importantly a happy and stress free horse 🐴
Good girl Poppy ♥

It's so lovely to hear how owners are getting on, another happy owner and horse 🐴

Today I worked with Honey, a stunning palomino mare who unfortunately had a bad experience in the past with loading which had knocked her confidence.
After working with Honey for around 30 minutes she was loading happily and confidently. She was even happy to be loaded and taken on a short drive, unloaded and reloaded again without becoming stressed.
♥ Good girl Honey ♥

I worked with another beautiful mare yesterday.
Annie was very nervous in the trailer and when closed in would throw herself to the floor.
She would also bolt off of the ramp running over anyone or anything in her way.
After working with Annie and building her confidence up she was happy to be loaded and have all the bars and doors shut up without becoming stressed. Her owner even loaded her stable friend with her ☺ 🐴
It's just as important to have your horse happily coming out of the trailer as it is going in.
Annie will now happily and quietly come off the ramp even standing if her owner wishes to do so.
Good girl Annie, here's to many stress free happy outings ☺

Meet Lulu, the rearing horse in the cover photo.
Lulu is a beautiful big mare standing around 16'1 16'2.
Lulu had a fear of loading to the point she would plant, rear and throw her front legs out at you.
After working with Lulu and letting her realise that there was nothing to be scared of, she started loading happily and confidently.

Check out the video below... Good girl Lulu ♥

Hi everyone and welcome to my page Loading Bliss, my name's Aimee and I have a passion for working with problem loaders.
I've had horses for around 35 years and have been working with problem loaders for about 7.
I got into loading after my old horse Comet was a nightmare to load and decided that I needed to do something to help him overcome his fear.

A stress free horse is a happy horse after all!
