This is Morley being shy! He came in on 12th April at 500g. Probably just out of hibernation with poor body shape, dehydration and the normal plethora of internal parasites. He’s now 760g and coming to the end of his treatment. Should be going back to where he was found for release in mid May.

Thank you for all the kind donations of newspapers. I have plenty now and am running out of storage space so no more for the time being please! 🙏

Unfortunately poor Hart took a big turn for the worse yesterday. She was very wobbly on her feet so I started emergency fluids and incubation. But it wasn’t enough. She died overnight. My intuition was right that there was something else going on with her. At least she was warm, safe and cared for when she passed.

This is Hart, the little girl who came in last night. Totally trashed her enclosure overnight but ate and drank well. Can’t find anything in her poo but my gut says something is not quite right so will be closely monitoring her.
The little boy who came in tested positive for internal parasites so has now started treatment.

Two hogs taken in today. One male, one female, both just out of hibernation. Dehydrated and malnourished. Hopefully they both just need a bit of R and R but we’ll see what their poo says tomorrow! 😳

Tofty has gone for release! What a journey. Arrived in October at 192g, she had everything you could name. She leaves tonight at 900g back to the garden she was rescued from. Good luck Tofty!

Tofty exploring her new home. She is trying to regrow spines after ringworm and I’m hoping a more natural environment will encourage this.

Miller is heading out for release today. He came to me in November as a 227g juvenile with all the normal worms etc. He ended up hibernating with me and is now a huge 817g! He will be released in the garden where he was born and rescued. ❤️

Paula’s release. Thanks Verity JS

Little update! All three (Paula, Tofty and Miller) are doing well. They’ve finished their meds and are working their way towards release weight. However it is currently too cold for releases but I would like to move them to outdoor hutches to acclimatise them and give them a more natural experience due to their long wait for overnight temperatures to increase.
PLEA! Does anyone have any of the wool type material that comes with food deliveries like Hello Fresh please? This will help to keep them warm outside until they can be released. Thank you 🙏
