August rarely opens up like this — once it’s filled, it’s filled.

🐾 Your Dog Looked at You Today… Did You Notice?

I saw it again today.

A dog walking beside their owner… glancing up at them… once… twice…

And being completely ignored.

The owner was on their phone.
Scrolling. Typing. Somewhere else entirely.

And the dog? Just quietly gave up trying to connect.

That moment stayed with me.
Because when we’re distracted on walks, it’s not just about safety (although that matters more than people realise).
It’s about something deeper.

👉 That little look up? That’s connection.
👉 That pause? That’s your dog checking in.
👉 That moment? That’s their time with you.
And when we miss it… it’s gone.

Yes—there are real risks too:
- Other dogs that need space.
- Cyclists flying past.
- Signs your own dog is stressed or unsure.

But beyond all of that…
A walk is one of the few times in the day your dog gets you. Your attention. Your presence.
Not half of you. Not distracted you.
Just… you.

So next time you clip on the lead, try something different.
Leave the phone. Look at your dog. Notice them noticing you.
Because one day, those walks will be memories.
And the question won’t be how many steps you did… but how many of those moments you truly shared.💚

I’ve written more about this (and why it matters more than most people think) here:

Back to Being Social...Featuring Bella 🐾

I've been a little lackadaisical on social media lately - real life (and real dogs!) have been keeping me busy.
So here's Bella, caught in the moment...enjoying a proper butcher's bone marrow. And yes - I absolutely love that I capture the tongue lick...PURE JOY 😆

There's something deeply satisfying about watching a dog enjoy real, species-appropriate food. No fuss. No gimmicks. Just natural enrichment and instict doing its thing.

Bone marrow (from a trusted butcher) can be:
- A brilliant mental enrichment activity
- Great for jaw exercise
- Packed with health fats and nutrients
- Deeply satisfying for dogs.

It's not just a treat,- it's an experience.
That focused calm. That contented chew. That "don't you dare take this off me" expression. Moments like this are why I love what I do. More real dogs coming soon - I promise.

Found near Hill Lane, Peckforton– Pink Gloves & Glasses 👓🧤

Hello lovely Peckforton/Beeston/Bunbury neighbours 👋
I found these pink gloves and glasses placed on a rock during a dog walk, on the edge if Peckforton Hill heading towards the Village Hall. They look deliberately left, so I thought I’d share in case someone is missing them.
If they’re yours (or you recognise them), message me and I’ll share exact location so you can retrieve them 😊

I’m currently dog and house sitting in the village and absolutely love walking the sandstone trail and exploring new footpaths here—such a beautiful area and a really friendly community. 😃🐾🐾

Lost & Found on a Dog Walk in Peckforton 💗👓
A little mystery on today’s dog walk in beautiful Peckforton…
I found these bright pink gloves and tortoiseshell glasses resting on a rock along the trail. They looked carefully placed rather than dropped, so I thought I’d share in case someone is searching for them.
This is one of the things I love about dog and house sitting—being out in nature, noticing the small details, and looking out for the local community (two-legged and four-legged alike 🐶🌲).
If they’re yours or you know who they belong to, just send me a message and I’ll providr location reference for their owner.
And if you’re looking for trusted dog sitting or house sitting in Cheshire, North Wales, or surrounding villages, I’m currently taking bookings for March 2026 and beyond—home care with the same attention and care I give my own home.
