☀️🐶 Hot Weather Walking Policy 🐶☀️

As you know we are currently experiencing a heatwave! Whilst glorious, there are a few precautions I need to make to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all dogs in my care is always my top priority. During periods of hot weather, walks will be adapted accordingly to prevent overheating and heat-related illness.

* All dogs will travel in a fully air-conditioned van with fans fitted to every crate.
* Dogs will have continuous access to fresh drinking water at all times.
* All dogs are closely monitored throughout transport and walks for any signs of overheating or discomfort.
* Walk durations may be shortened if dogs appear too warm, tired, or uncomfortable.
* Walks may be replaced with pop ins where it’s too warm/dependent on breed and age.
* Outdoor activity will be planned around cooler parts of the day whenever possible.
* Our walking spots include plenty of shaded areas as well as access to a stream for dogs to cool down safely during warmer weather.

I will be prioritising dogs that are home alone during the day, and will only be offering morning walks for those that need them. If you’re going to be home next week and won’t require my services, please let me know so I can free that slot up for a dog that would otherwise be on its own.

Of course, we live in Wales where the weather changes constantly, so if anything changes, I’ll contact you directly. I’ll keep you all updated regardless.

But as always, your dog’s health comes before anything else. Missing one walk won’t hurt them, but the heat could.
