🐢🐾 Very proud trainer moment!

Merlin started his journey with me in puppy classes and is now doing scentwork with me and he’s just completed his first proper real life search!

A pet tortoise had been missing for two days, and Merlin’s scentwork skills helped identify the area where she was found buried a foot down under soil and leaves.

How amazing is that?!

This is exactly why I love scentwork watching our dogs learn to use their incredible noses and seeing those skills develop beyond the classroom.

🐾 A big welcome to Gwen, who started her training walks with me today!

Training walks are a great way to work on real life skills such as loose lead walking, focus around distractions, confidence, and polite manners while your dog still gets to enjoy their walk.

I’m looking forward to helping Gwen on her training journey! 🐶

Just because your dog understands a cue indoors doesn’t mean they’ll automatically understand it outside. By gradually changing the environment and building up distractions, we’re helping those behaviours become reliable wherever they go.

🐾 Meet lovely Sandy! 🐾

I was due to be taking Sandy out for walks over a few days, but with the temperatures soaring during the recent heatwave, it just wasn’t safe to head out.

Instead, we stayed indoors where it was nice and cool, enjoying playtime, enrichment activities, plenty of fuss and keeping each other company. Keeping dogs safe and comfortable will always come before getting the miles in. ❤️

A couple of weeks ago, I visited Benji for a 90 minute in-home 1-2-1 puppy training session. We focused on the areas his owner was finding most challenging, with practical training tailored specifically to Benji and his family.

🐾 What a fantastic afternoon at the Fun Dog Show! 🐾

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and entered their dogs yesterday. It was lovely to meet so many wonderful dogs and their owners and see everyone having such a great time.

We had some fantastic classes, and judging was incredibly difficult with so many deserving winners!

Congratulations to all of our class winners and rosette recipients.
