💥🦷 I nearly made it a full holiday without seeing a horse! But when one of my lovely clients sent me a video of her mare pulling funny faces 🤪 after coming in from the field – completely out of character – I popped over to check there wasn’t anything obvious going on in her mouth.

On examination, her teeth looked great ✅, soft tissue a nice healthy colour 🌸, and no signs of trauma. With all the tongue and head movement 🙃 it was tricky to see right at the back of the mouth properly but I spotted something small (or so I thought!) just poking out.

A quick call 📞 to South Moor Vets and James arrived, cape and all 🦸🏻‍♂️. With a bit of sedation 💉 and a relaxed tongue, he uncovered the culprit – a BRAMBLE wedged back into her soft palate! 🌿😬

A great reminder that even little changes in behaviour can mean something’s not quite right 🐴💡. Thankfully she should be feeling much happier now! Also nice to work as part of a team once again with the vets 🤝

Just a couple more days of holiday for me ⛱️ before I’m back to work – and the diary is already filling up fast for the autumn months 🍂🍁.

🦷🐴The lovely Callum was first up today! Only the second time I’ve treated him and he stood foot perfect! Flat out at the minute in the lead up to some much needed time off at the end of August. Another full week, then off to Dorset this weekend to treat 20 horses at a racing yard 🏇🏽🦷

🔵🐴🦷 Sorry I’ve been relatively quiet on here.. The days seem to roll into each other and before you know it weeks and months pass! I’m still working away busy as ever which I’m so grateful for, with lots of new clients booking in too! Over the last few months it’s been horses and ponies of all shapes and sizes, working with Keith and Gemma as well as vets from all different practices. We are very lucky to work alongside such dedicated vets all with one shared goal doing what’s best for the horses and ponies we care for whether it’s routine checks or specialist equine dentistry, it’s always about their comfort, health, and happiness. 🔵🐴🦷

🐴🦷Made a trip with South West Equine Dentistry (Gemma-the professor) recently to The Shire Horse Centre Farm to see all the horses, shetlands and donkeys! Our second year coming to treat these guys😍🦷🐴 featuring Mowgoli.. trying his best to blend in with the wall😂

Signing off for 2024.. it’s been my busiest year so far since starting dentistry… filled with horses, ponies and donkeys of various sizes.. even a Zebra at Paignton zoo. Peanut had to be involved when Ian Hargreaves Equine Dentistry came to just check over Wizzle.

Having such small mouths I just wanted to double check all was ok & it was 🙌🏼

Pepper had to have a vet visit on top of Ian as sadly he had to have a tooth helped after a nasty kick, but he will heal quickly & be ok 🥰
