🐾 Are you a dog lover who can spare a few hours a week to help with our rescue dogs? 🐾

Our two shelters are busier than ever and we would love to recruit some more volunteers to help with the wonderful dogs in our care.

We have vacancies for dog volunteers to help with dog mornings and evenings at both our Grayrigg (north of Kendal) and Milnthorpe sites.

🐕 Dog mornings

From 8-10.30am, involves giving each dog a walk, kennel cleaning, feeding the dogs and making sure the kennels are left clean and tidy for the day.

🐩 Dog evenings

From 3-5pm, involves a final walk for each of the dogs, kennel cleaning and feeding the dogs, settling them down for the night and making sure the kennels are left clean and tidy.

You will ideally have some experience with dogs, especially larger breeds. Full training will be given.

Both sites are rural and you will need your own transport to get to them. You must be 18 or over to volunteer with the dogs.

With the recent closure of one of our local veterinary practices, some of your dog’s records may now be out of date.
At your next grooming appointment, could you please let me know your dog’s current vet details so I can update my records?
Your dog’s safety and wellbeing is always my top priority, and having the correct veterinary information means I can act quickly if ever needed.

Happy Newyear Everyone 🌠 2026

Im starting on my Diary tomorrow, due to being extremely busy I didn't manage to get everyone booked back in ( sorry)

This Christmas im Happy to say il be doing the Animal Concern Cumbria donations again ❤️

So many of you are extremely generous & i recieve lots of lovely gifts 🎁 but again this year for those who would like to be involved im asking my loyal customers to help support our Local Animal Concern Cumbria instead 🐶 .

A £5 donation ( charity box in salon ) would help buy a Christmas dinner & Toy for the homeless dogs who find themselves without families this Christmas ( lets make a difference 💕) Thankyou

My client has experienced a relationship breakdown and is living in temporary accommodation where she cannot keep her two small dogs (mother and son). Her ex is threatening to remove them from the house. This is a desperate situation. Any advice or help is welcome. Thanks…
