🐾 Dog 🐕 Mum is thrilled to welcome Dog Dad’s newest client… TEDDY! 🐾
I’m absolutely over the moon to introduce Teddy — a brilliant 7.5‑month‑old German Shepherd bursting with excitement, enthusiasm, and all the joyful energy you’d expect from a bright young lad finding his paws in the world 🐾

Teddy’s owner reached out to Dog Dad for support with focus, calmer lead walking, recall, and a touch of reactivity, and we’re genuinely grateful they did. This boy has so much potential, and it’s a privilege to be part of his journey 🐾

Like many adolescent shepherds, Teddy is still learning how to navigate the world politely. He’s found his voice, he’s experimenting with his mouth, and he’s using those puppy teeth a little more than his humans would like — all perfectly normal for an excitable young GSD finding his way 🐾

And that’s exactly the kind of training we love. With the right guidance, structure, and positive reinforcement methods, Teddy will learn how to channel all that brilliant shepherd energy into calmer, more confident choices🐾

Meet Tully! 🐶

For years, Tully lived in a pen in Romania alongside her best friend, waiting for the day someone would finally choose her after her stint in the kill shelter. When that chance came, it should have been the start of her happy ending - but heartbreak followed quickly, and she was given up in less than a week. Understandably overwhelmed, frightened, and confused by everything around her, Tully responded the only way she knew how: by asking for space with growls that simply meant, “Please leave me alone - I’m scared.”

Since then, Tully has spent several months in kennels, and in that time she has blossomed. Given patience, understanding, and consistency, she has learned how to decompress and trust. The dog emerging now is affectionate, funny, and full of love - once she knows she is safe. She will gently paw at you for attention, lean in close, and even attempt to climb onto your lap, blissfully unaware that at around 35kg, she is very much not lapdog-sized.

At approximately 6 years old, Tully is looking for an experienced, committed home that understands dogs who need time. She can be wary when meeting new people and situations, so several visits before adoption would be essential to help build trust and set her up for success. Initially she can feel more anxiety around men, but with a few meets overcomes this. She is also still learning how to walk on lead - so much of the world is still new to her - and she will need patient guidance as she continues discovering life outside kennel walls.

Tully has never been particularly fond of other dogs, so she would be happiest as the only pet in the home, where she can enjoy all the love and attention for herself. She will need a secure garden with good fencing and a quiet, traffic-free room or safe space indoors where she can retreat and decompress when she feels overwhelmed. Because of her size and strength, she is best suited to a confident, experienced owner familiar with large breeds, who won’t be discouraged by the anxiety-based growls she may initially display.

What Tully needs most is simple:
patience, understanding, and someone willing to look past her fear to see the loving dog underneath.

Stevie is a 5-year-old, medium-sized male weighing around 20kg. He’s a healthy, neutered boy who is full of character and is now searching for a very special home where he can truly settle and feel secure.

He is currently in kennels in Worcester, where he has been for some time now, patiently waiting for his chance.

Stevie is an excitable and intelligent dog who loves treats and gets especially happy when he sees his lead – often spinning or jumping up in excitement. He enjoys his walks and has a confident personality, happily letting you know where he wants to go and how long for. While he isn’t overly affectionate, he will engage for rewards and can sit and wait patiently. He’s a dog who prefers his own space and builds trust in his own time.

Stevie is looking for a calm, structured environment where his boundaries are respected. He would thrive in an adult-only home with no other pets, as he prefers to be the only animal. A quiet household with minimal visitors and a secure garden is essential, giving him space to relax and feel safe.

It’s important to note that Stevie can be reactive to other dogs and may guard his space from humans, particularly if approached unexpectedly. He doesn’t like surprises and needs experienced adopters who understand dog behaviour and can provide clear, consistent boundaries.

Some moments don’t need fixing, shaping, or teaching — they just are🐾

This afternoon it was just me, Stevie, and his favourite chew bone. No reactivity to think about, no shadows from his past creeping in… just an older Romanian lad stretched out, keeping cool, working away at his treat like the world had finally gone quiet enough for him to breathe🐾

Every so often he’d pause, look up at me with those soft, grateful eyes, then shuffle a little closer, bone still clamped proudly in his grasp as if to say, “Thanks, Dog Dad. I’m good.”
And he was.
Completely content.
Completely safe.
Completely Stevie🐾

Just a dog and dog dad, chilling together without a single care tugging at either of us🐾

🐾 Dog Mum Reflections — Sweet Vinnie 🐾
Some dogs touch your heart the moment you meet them… and then there are dogs like Vinnie, who reach right into your soul🐾
Working with a boy who’s lived through neglect and maltreatment changes you.
It softens you. It grounds you. It reminds you why this work matters so deeply.🐾

Vinnie missed out on so much — his puppyhood, his safety, the simple comfort of being cared for. He had every reason to shut down, yet somehow… he didn’t. That spark inside him never went out🐾

And the truth is, Vinnie doesn’t ask for much.
To play.
To have fuss.
To feel love — that’s it.
Humans could seriously learn from dogs like him. Trust isn’t given freely… but once it is, you know. You feel it in the way they lean into you, the way their eyes soften, the way their whole body exhales because they finally feel safe🐾

Now, watching him bloom is one of the greatest privileges of my life.

This lovely lad is finally in the right place, surrounded by the right people — people who see him, support him, and show him every single day that he matters. Every cuddle, every soft look, every tiny moment of trust feels like a gift🐾

DOG 🐕 DAD training with Luci 🐾🐾
Our regular weekend training session — and my girl was in her absolute element this morning. We moved through her German cues, our little tradition since she was tiny, and she lit up the second we began 🐾

Luci’s so confident with “Gib fünf” (our cue for Paw / Give me Five). We’ve shaped it over years with both the verbal cue and the flat‑palm hand signal she gently taps for that soft, clean, calm finish 🐾

I’ve always loved using German commands with her — they’re clear, consistent, and beautifully separate from everyday English. No accidental cues, no mixed messages… just a reliable language that helps her tune in and shine.
And in fairness… she is a German Shepherd 🐾

Watching her switch on, listen, and work with me like we’re sharing our own little secret code — that’s the magic.
