You're my cup of tea! ❀️

Just finished this heart motif granny crochet teapot cosy with a pom pom. It has a ribbed cuff, so it pulls on and off like a jumper!

Amongst all the roses and fizz of Valentine's Day, sweetheart pin cushions are a poignant reminder of love during wartime. Made by military personnel to aid rehabilitation, they were sent home as tokens of affection. I made this re-imagined cushion for a customer looking to gift a keepsake featuring the specific colours of purple and yellow.

Inspired by the recent posts about American Thanksgiving, here's a turkey and a slice of pumpkin pie immortalised in wool! Neat as a pin and perfect for decorating your home or gifting to your host/hostess, these are available from my Etsy shop, either individually or together (link in bio).

The date and nature of the original Thanksgiving is contested, but in 1941 President Roosevelt signed a resolution to establish the "fourth Thursday in November as the Federal Thanksgiving Day Holiday" (The U.S. National Archives and Records Administration, 2021). At this time, Thanksgiving was about the start of shopping for the holiday season (Roosevelt was keen to support retail), sharing a special dinner and expressing thanks for blessings.

It’s been a little while since I last posted on here, but I’ve honestly been having a blast. 92 Etsy sales and 34 all 5 star reviews, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the journey it’s taken me on. While reflecting and deciding on some next steps, I’ve been spending a bit of time in the garden. Dahlias remind me of old fashioned allotments and I’m thrilled at how these have grown from tubers that looked like little salami sausages into these beautiful yellow blooms. Plus, I hope like me and my shop, there are still plenty of buds left to open 😊
