I don't post about every little thing that happens here. About every dog that comes to me for help. About every person I meet on the journey and all the stories we share. I am well aware that its been a long time since I posted anything on here, but just so people know - it doesn't mean I don't care or that I have ceased trading. It simply means I am busy with life, and trying to do the best I can by the pooches that come my way.

Life is full of distractions and negativity these days, and it only seems to get worse.

I'm glad I work with dogs - I am constantly reminded how much better than people they are.

Anyway, hopefully see you soon.

This has become a pattern I don't want to repeat again but.......
A friend of mine pointed out earlier that I hadn't posted anything for a while, and he's damn right!
The business is back up and running for the second time now, after putting myself back in hospital yet again with an injured arm (No I don't learn it appears)!
I just want to thank all my loyal clients for tolerating my stupidity yet again and also a big thank you to my new clients who have started with me in the last few months.
I don't post a lot I know, I don't like to use Facebook to advertise and wave my little, Phoenix shaped flag about what I do. I prefer my work to speak for itself and for my clients to find me because of the level of rehab I can offer, not because I come at the top of their search because I've swamped this platform with countless videos of puppies swimming!
That said, this is a business, with bills to pay. But I've always said that I'd rather focus on delivering the correct standard of care, then the rest will follow.
In short, Thank you everyone, see you in the pool.

Hi everyone, I'll keep this one short I promise.
After a lot of hard work and very painful re-hab, I'm back at work!

I just wanted to let everyone know, and thank you all for standing by me during the last few months.

I'll try not be such a clumsy oaf from now on!

Hi everyone, I've written and re-written this post in my head a fair few times, trying to work out the best way to word it..... eventually you just have to get on with it I guess.
On Friday I had surgery to repair my left bicep tendon, it all went very well but the surgeon believes that I've torn this one worse than I did my right.......I've never been one to make a surgeons life easy!
I'm recovering now but can't help thinking about all my four legged friends that I'm letting down so very badly.
It's bad enough that the sodding lockdown prevented me from working (don't get me started on that little rant) but now I'm looking at not being able to help my patients for another 3 or 4 months.
Those of you who know me outside of the pool, know how hard I've worked to make my place be what I always imagined. The sacrifices I've made were always made knowing that my canine mates would benefit, so it was worth it.
But now, yet again, I have to beg your forgiveness because I've broken myself and can't do what I'm supposed to be doing.
Like several of my clients, I'm just not safe if left alone without a handler!
Seriously though, I'm really sorry to let you all down like this, for a second bloody time.
No one is more annoyed with my stupidity than myself!

Kind of inevitable I guess but here we go. I've been struggling with this for a few days, but it's time to make a decision.

I'm officially closed for business until the Government advises otherwise.

I hate doing this as I see myself as a key worker to some of my patients who have acute clinical needs, but I can't ignore the risk to the owners health if I stay open.

I'm really, really sorry guys, I truly am, but I've looked at all the advice and really think this is the best of several bad options for me. I'll keep you all posted, and as soon as the doors can be opened again, believe me they will.be.

Until then, feel free to stay in touch and above all else.... look after your four legged friends for me whilst I can't.

Sorry to let you all down like this.

Hi all. Most of you guys will be aware that In November last year I managed to mess my arm up a treat and had to close my place for a while to allow for Surgery and sulking.

Lots of sulking.

Well, it's been quite a roller coaster but I'm almost back to full time work again (all be it nowhere near 100% strength yet) and the last few weeks have made me realise something very important.

Now, I'm not going to get all soppy and soft with you all but ......... I have been truly humbled by the attitude of all of my clients, and that's not something I say lightly. Everyone has been incredibly understanding of my absolute stupidity in breaking myself. Everyone has waited for me to get back to work and have been great in understanding that I have had to do it slowly so as not to undo all the good work the surgeon did.

I couldn't have asked for a better bunch of people or a more caring lot either..... apart from a couple of you who may have called me names at the time......deserved I admit, but still.

I just wanted to say thank you I guess.

Thank you for making my business a success (without you lot I'm just a fat geezer in a wet suit)

Thank you for understanding that sometimes, I do dumb stuff, but that's part of my charm isn't it?

But most of all, thank you for caring about your pets and bringing them to me so that I can help them.

I really missed working, I hadn't realised just how much what I do defines who I am these days.

I help dogs and I love it. Sound soft? Don't care!

I've missed it, and thank you for letting me do it.

See you in the pool!

Hello you lot, it's Xmas again so I suppose I should write something................urm, happy Xmas.......there you go, that's about as festive as I get!
Seriously though, I may make Scrooge look like a Unicef volunteer but I want to do something for you lot.
As a way of thanking all my clients (past and present), if you're not busy on the 27th, I'm having Mince Pies and a laugh down the Centre. Its both a way of celebrating the end of the year, and a way of thanking everyone for being so patient with me since I mangled my bloody arm last month and have let you all down (that's how it feels, don't argue)!
So, starting at Midday, if you fancy it, come along. Bring the dogs if they'll get along with the others and park wherever you like.
Like I said, this isn't just for current clients, if you've been a client and just want to pop down, feel free.
All I ask is you let me know below (in the comments) if you fancy it, then I know how many Mince Pies to get in.
See you all soon, I hope, and thanks again.

Trav (the happy little Elf).

Well, everyone else is posting pics of the snow so I thought I'd join in.
Sometimes you find yourself in a situation where you look in your bag of talent and find it's not quite as full as you thought it was!
I love driving in this weather, relish the challenge of it. Unfortunately I am also a complete idiot who thinks he is invulnerable.
Bloody snow!

Hello again you lot! I have a question for you all, so pay attention......especially those of you at the back who think i can't see you!

I'm thinking of hosting an animal first aid course at my place sometime soon. I personally think its a vital skill if you have dogs, and I'm keen to do my bit in helping to educate as many people as possible on what to do if you're four legged friend goes and does something stupid!

I have a very experienced person willing to take the course and I think it would be a great thing to host, but before I start working out times/dates/cost and all that boring stuff, I just wondered how many people would be interested?

If you think you'd be up for it, just leave a comment on this post and tell me if you'd rather have a Wednesday or a Saturday.
I think the course is about 6 hours, so its a proper one not just coffee and playing with some bandages for 30m mins!

Let me know what you think people, as I'll only go further with this if it has some support from you lovely lot.

See you all soon.

I don't do Facebook much, and I don't do Xmas either, and yet here I am writing a festive post.......... 2017 has been a weird one for me. The business has gone from great to even better and has exceeded all my hopes and dreams for it.
I've met some amazing new friends (2 and 4 legged) and lost a few of both in the process too.
I'm still not sure where most of this year has gone, but I know I've had fun so who cares!
On a serious not though. Thank you to all the people that have helped to make this year so good. Thank you to all my clients who trust me with their dogs and let me do my thing. Thank you to my long suffering Wife who puts up with me never being home.
I love my job, I love the dogs I get to meet. I love helping them and being a part of their stories.
Thank you one and all for helping me to live my life the way I want to.
Here are a few pics from across the year..........see you all soon.

Just a quickie. I've been invited to attend this event and promote the business a bit. Hopefully spread the word about Hydro and all the benfits it can have. Anyone I know who's interested should get in touch with them and see what's what - could be quite an interesting evening.
