The Raven & Raphi Ride… ❤️
Some dreams take years to become reality.
These photographs aren't just from an evening hack. They represent years of dreaming, planning, patience and belief.
As breeders, we don't just produce foals—we imagine what they might become long before they're born and invest years helping them reach their potential.
A few days ago, after almost two years away from riding following consecutive injuries to the same knee, I climbed back into the saddle on Redheart Reality.
Then, just a few days later, came an evening I will never forget.
Emma and I rode out together.
Emma on Redheart Raphael, our four-year-old mare.
Me on her full brother, Redheart Raven, now five.
Their story began before they were even born. Emma believed in them from the very beginning, purchasing both Raven and Raphi in utero (Peyres Catori Cat x DFR Patahas Redheart). We shared those precious first six months together before I weaned them, and from then on Emma and Naomi have lovingly produced them into the wonderful horses they are today.
To ride these full siblings together on a perfect summer evening was incredibly special. There were no competitions, no ribbons and no spectators—just two beautifully mannered young Appaloosas quietly enjoying their work.
For me, that is success.
Not simply breeding beautiful horses, but horses with kind minds, willing hearts and temperaments that people genuinely enjoy.
Watching Raven and Raphi walk side by side, then turning them back out together to graze as brother and sister in the evening sunshine, was the perfect end to a perfect day.
These moments can't be bought.
They are earned through years of dedication, friendship and believing in the horses you've created.
Thank you, Emma and Naomi, for believing in Raven and Raphi from the very beginning and for everything you've invested in them. Sharing this unforgettable ride together is a memory I will treasure forever.
Some dreams really do take years to come true... and every year is worth it. ❤️
