Really pleased with the lambs this year, nice strong lambs, square, good shape and muscle 👍🏻🙂👌🏻

After a busy day with lots of lambs born, it was another late shift in the lambing shed. In the early hours Sparkle ✨ had two lovely ram lambs 🙂 🐑🐑.
Almost finished this first group of southdowns.
Been really happy with the lambs. All having twins apart from 2 triplets, a lovely big single and the surprise quad.
Next group start in a couple of weeks with the main commercial flock. But in the mean time I will be catching up on sleep 😴

And the first group of girls are in getting nice and comfy ready for lambing, just over a week to go 🥰🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑🐑☺️ This group were CIDR’d so hopefully lambing will be over just a few days. Starting off with a small section of the shed to keep clean.
We’ll call this the warm up before the main event in 3 weeks time when the commercial flock and the rest of the southdowns start 🤣

Monday was scanning day for the sheep. Two groups done. Very pleased with the results for the southdowns, 3 lots of triplets, 4 singles and the rest twins 😊.
Just goes to show the southdowns didn’t struggle too much with the incredibly hot summer and drought. Good sheep all round ❤️
The results for the rest of the flock were good too but they have been harder to keep condition on.
