Not to be dramatic but I think summer is here guys 😅

The mud is drying up, I’m not having to wear my wellies or my big coat every single day, and Apollo is clearly happy to be outside again so it must be getting warmer! 🤣

I will be on holiday from the 9th-21st April with daycare & boarding resuming from Wednesday 22nd April!

February was filled with meet & greets, muddy walks and dog madness in general 😂

From new daycare puppies to older boarding dogs we’ve had a lot going on! Hopefully the weather will improve soon and I won’t have to mop 7 times a day anymore🤞🏼

Rosie the Jack Russell is looking for a new home!

18 years young and still got a spring in her step! She’s really low maintenance and happy to be left for a few hours during the day!

Rosie hasn’t lived or socialised with other dogs but loves people so she would be best suited to a quieter house!

If anyone can offer a retirement home for this lovely girl or for more information please get in touch! 🐶

How to best prepare your dog (and yourself) for boarding & daycare? 🐕

Crate training and teaching your dog to settle: I know it doesn’t feel like it initially but separation is a good thing for both of you! It builds your dog’s confidence and ability to relax away from you, which is essential if you want to go on holiday or to non dog-friendly events ever again 😅

Have some sort of feeding schedule: Having set meal times for your dog instead of all-day access helps regulate their appetite and build their food drive (which helps with training too!) if it’s already part of their home routine they are less likely to go on hunger strike in a new environment! 😂

Pack the essentials: For longer holiday boarding make sure you bring your dogs daily food, bedding/blanket/crate mat, a fitted collar and any special toys or treats they like! Of course I have spare everything here but having a few things from home can help your dog settle in easier, for daycare all that’s needed is your pup and maybe a few treats! 🥰

Complete the paperwork: Any professional boarder/petsitter should provide some sort of contract for you to complete, as lovely as this job is, accidents can happen so it’s important to have an emergency plan in place and have all your dogs details/behaviour requirements/medical info to hand!

Do a meet & greet and then a trial/settling day: This is really important once you’ve done your research and decided on a person/business. A trial day allows me to assess and bond with the new dog while they get used to my house and other dogs, and it also gives owners the opportunity to trust someone else with your dog, believe me I understand the anxiety there’s like 2 people in the whole world I trust Apollo with 😭🤣

Finally, ask questions! Ask how it works, how are the dogs walked, where they’ll be sleeping and so on for your peace of mind! I’m always happy to answer questions about how I run things and I’ll always be honest if I think a dog would benefit from a different care option 🤍

How does my home-based dog boarding & daycare work?

I tailor my home boarding service to each individual dogs’ behavioural needs and the owner’s preferences. The only requirements are that dogs are toilet trained and crate trained or familiar with a gated area to ensure every dog has a safe, comfortable and enjoyable stay!

I am extremely passionate about providing a high quality service with a smaller number of dogs so owners can relax and enjoy your time away knowing your pup is being cared for properly and any training you have in place won’t be undone 🫶🏼

To make sure me, you and your dogs are happy before a long stay, we would arrange a meet & greet and a settling in day 🐶

I also:

• Offer free pick up & drop off anywhere on the Wirral📍

• Have full insurance cover and have access to a local out of hours vets in the case of an emergency ⛑️

• Have received the highest standard dog boarding license from Wirral Council ⭐️

• Exercise the dogs at a variety of places including the beach and enclosed fields 🌳

• Have a degree in Psychology and Animal Behaviour and I undergo annual canine first aid training and behaviour training to ensure I am up to date in all areas 📚

• Have over 7 years experience caring for puppies, adult dogs and dogs with behavioural issues/requirements 🐶

• Have tons of reviews from happy owners whose dogs have stayed with me ✅

• Use the most effective and dog safe cleaning products 🧼

• Send daily messages, photos and video updates so you can see what your pup is up to while you relax and enjoy your holiday 📲
