Mia is looking for a fresh start after coming into our care following the sad passing of her owner. Having spent some time in foster care with a member of our team, we have seen just how much of a gem she is away from the noise of the kennels.

She is a laid-back, house-trained, and easygoing companion who asks for very little beyond a cosy spot to call her own. Mia absolutely loves playing with her soft toys and tennis balls, but her favourite activity of all is curling up for affection with the people she trusts.

She can be a little unsure when meeting new faces, but a few tasty treats and a bit of patience are all it takes for her to warm up. Because she experiences separation anxiety, Mia needs a home where someone is around for most of the day. With flexible routines, her new family can help build her confidence and teach her that being left for short periods is nothing to worry about.

This sweet girl truly deserves to be thoroughly spoilt in her next chapter. If you have the time and love to give, please visit our website to apply for Mia.

Roy is still waiting for his forever home! 🐾

You may remember this cheeky Patterdale Terrier from a previous post. Roy is a friendly, playful boy with plenty of energy and personality. He loves toys, especially soft toys and tug, and is also very food motivated. He enjoys spending time with people and is happy to be handled and groomed.

Roy can be very excitable, particularly around his kennel, and needs experienced owners who can provide structure, routine and plenty of activity. He can pull on walks, so a harness is preferred, and he may struggle with being left alone.

A few things to know about Roy's ideal home:

- Children aged 8 and over with sensible, supervised interactions
- Must be the only dog in the home
- Experience with high-energy terrier breeds
- A home where someone is around for most of the day
- Plenty of exercise, training and enrichment

Roy is a lively and affectionate boy with so much to offer the right family. With the right support, he’ll make a brilliant companion.

Could you be the one Roy has been waiting for? Get in touch on our website to find out more. 🐶

What happens when dogs don’t get enough enrichment? 🐾

Our Behaviour & Training Coordinator, Jenni, explains how enrichment can help reduce stress, support mental stimulation and give dogs the chance to engage in the behaviours that come naturally to them.

Without it, dogs can become bored, frustrated and even depressed.

Max is still waiting for his forever home! 🐾

You may remember this handsome boy from a previous post. Max can be wary of new people and needs time to build trust, but once he knows you, his cheeky and affectionate personality shines through. Multiple meets will be needed to help him build a bond with his new family.

Food is definitely the way to Max’s heart! He knows sit, paw and lie down and enjoys learning when treats are involved. He generally walks nicely on the lead and wears a muzzle for veterinary visits as he can find handling overwhelming.

A few things to know about Max's ideal home:

- Only dog in the home
- Dog-savvy children aged 13 and over
- A patient family happy to build a bond through multiple visits
- His heart condition requires a follow-up scan in 12 months, covered by the rescue

Max has been waiting for the right person to come along. Once he trusts you, he has so much love and affection to give.

Could you be the one he’s been waiting for? Get in touch on our website to find out more. 🐶

This morning, these cuties were waiting not-so-patiently for their breakfast.

It is a busy and exciting week for these little ones, as they will all be heading off to their wonderful new homes in just a few days. We are so pleased they are starting their new adventures!

We had to share this adorable photo before they go. Which little paw print is your favourite?
