Meet Shadow! 🐾

This bouncy yet cuddly Cane Corso cross Rottweiler has a heart as big as his paws and a story that will blow you away.

Shadow arrived at our centre as a stray, underweight, with poor skin and very little muscle tone. With care, love and proper nutrition he has transformed into a healthy, thriving 50kg gentle giant who is absolutely full of life. His journey has been incredible and now he is ready for a home that will love him just as much as we do.

Shadow is a clever, food motivated boy who absolutely loves to learn. He already knows sit, give paw and wait, has great recall in our secure paddocks and is working on lie down. He is a gentle soul who adores everyone he meets and his favourite thing in the world is a good squeaky toy followed closely by his dinner!

A few things to know about Shadow's ideal home:
- Adults only and only pet in the home
- Experienced owners who are confident and knowledgeable with large breeds
- Continued work around food aggression, space and structure at mealtimes will be important
- Must be kept on lead at all times and wear his muzzle in public due to dog reactivity
- A calm, consistent environment with patience, structure and plenty of positive reinforcement

Shadow has already come so far and he deserves a home that will help him go even further. He is loyal, loving and endlessly rewarding for the right family.

Meet Roy! 🐾

This cheeky Patterdale Terrier is full of beans and absolutely bursting with personality! Roy is friendly, playful and always ready for fun, though he is not shy about making his enthusiasm known, whether that is attempting a cheeky kennel escape or zooming off with a soft toy and daring you to catch him! He is toy obsessed first and food motivated a very close second, which makes him a brilliant candidate for training and engagement.

Roy already knows how to sit, accepts handling and grooming well and tugs beautifully with tug toys. He can pull on the lead so a harness works best for him, and he is muzzle trained around other dogs. He is the kind of boy who thrives with clear structure, routine and purposeful activity, so adopters with experience of working or high energy terrier breeds would be a brilliant match for him.

A few things to know about Roy's ideal home:
- Only dog in the home
- Children aged 8 and over with sensible, supervised interactions
- Experience with working or high energy terrier breeds preferred
- Someone around for much of the time as Roy may struggle with being left alone
- Plenty of exercise, stimulation and ongoing training to keep that brilliant mind busy

Roy is a lively, affectionate and devoted little character who just needs the right family to channel all that wonderful energy.

Meet Pascal, a young pup with absolutely endless potential. We suspect he is a Malinois cross Staffordshire Bull Terrier mix, and he matches the high intelligence and active nature of both breeds to a T. He has a massive heart and so much love to give, but he is looking for a very specific home to help him grow into the best dog he can be.

Pascal needs a lot of mental stimulation, physical activity, and further socialisation, as he currently struggles when he is around other dogs. He requires an experienced owner who understands driven breeds and is genuinely ready to commit to putting in a lot of structured, ongoing training.

If you have the experience and time to guide this clever boy, you will be rewarded with an incredibly loyal companion.

We Are Their Lifeline

Every year, we take in thousands of stray and abandoned dogs from across the West Midlands.

Many arrive frightened, confused and in need of urgent veterinary care. Some require lifesaving emergency surgery, while others need ongoing treatment to help them live comfortably and pain-free. From emergency pyometra operations to BOAS surgery for dogs struggling to breathe, the veterinary costs soon add up.

But when a dog needs help, there is no hesitation, we step in.
One such dog is 11-year-old Gizmo.

When Gizmo arrived with us last week, it was immediately clear that he was suffering. As you can see from the photos, he had a severely pr*****ed eye that was causing him immense pain and discomfort.

There was no time to waste.

The veterinary team acted quickly, booking Gizmo straight into surgery to remove the damaged eye and relieve his pain. Thanks to their swift intervention, Gizmo is now recovering well and is already much more comfortable. Time will be a great healer for this brave little boy.

We don't know how long Gizmo had been living with this condition before he came into our care. What we do know is that when he needed help most, we were there for him.

That help is only possible because of people like you.

Every donation, every share, every act of support helps us provide urgent veterinary treatment to dogs who have nowhere else to turn. Dogs like Gizmo come through our doors every single day, each with their own story, each needing our help.

Gizmo's veterinary treatment has cost approximately £2,600.
If you are able to make a donation towards his care, no matter how small, it will help ensure we can continue being there for the next dog who desperately needs us.

Thank you for helping us be their lifeline.

Meet Raven! 🐾

This classic Chow Chow is every bit the breed she is supposed to be! Raven is independent, quietly dignified and very much does things on her own terms. She is not a dog who rushes into relationships but for those who take the time to earn her trust, the reward is a deeply loyal and quietly devoted companion.

Raven thrives with predictable routines, calm confident handling and people who truly understand and appreciate the Chow Chow temperament. Chow Chow experience is an absolute must for her future home. Outside of the kennel she shows a noticeably calmer side, given time and patience she really does blossom, and she already knows how to sit with hotdogs being a very reliable way to her heart!

A few things to know about Raven's ideal home:
- Chow Chow experienced owners only
- May suit a home with another calm, aloof dog who will respect her space, careful introductions at our centre would be essential
- Children aged 13 and over who understand dog body language and know when to give her space
- A calm, unhurried home with no expectations of instant affection
- Walks best on a lead and collar rather than a harness
- Continued handling work on her own terms and muzzle training for veterinary visits

Raven is not looking for the loudest home or the busiest household. She is looking for the right one.

Could that be you? Get in touch on our website to find out more. 🐶
