Advocating for your dog 🐾
One of the most important parts of being a responsible dog owner isn’t just training your dog… it’s speaking up for them.
In public, too many people think it’s okay to rush over, get in your dog’s face, or excite them without asking first. It might seem harmless, but it’s actually really poor manners — and it can have a lasting impact on your dog.
👉 Find your voice. 🗣️
Not every dog wants to be approached. When people ignore boundaries, it can create fear and anxiety, especially in puppies who are still learning about the world. Those overwhelming experiences can stick with them and lead to nervous or reactive behaviour later on.
On the flip side, some dogs get overly excited. When strangers encourage that behaviour, it can undo the training you’ve been working hard on and reinforce habits you’re trying to avoid.
⚠️ A little reminder for everyone:
Not every dog is the same.
You don’t know what that dog is feeling.
You don’t know what training the owner is working on.
Every dog and owner is on their own journey, aiming for a calm, happy, and well-balanced life together.
That dog wasn’t brought out for public entertainment — they’re a valued part of someone’s family ❤️
