Day off work and fancied a change of scenery 🐾

DK has just came out of season so we decided on a day of exposure.

🚂 to Wolverhampton,
Some obedience training around town,
Also managing to resist the urge of killing the town pigeons 😂
Lots of people coming to praise her on her good behaviour, and most importantly randomly bumping into my Nan & Granddad, who DK has never met before, but absolutely loved 🥰

🐾 ( From the left to right ) 🐾

Zeus - 17 month old, Male Rottweiler.

Jackson - 4 year old, Male Lurcher x.

Hugo - 14 months old, Male Labrador x Presa Canario.

Layla - 16 month old, Female German shepherd x Belgian Malinois.

Ruthie - Unknown but assumed around 4-6 years old, Female Spanish Mastiff.

Home consultation with this stunning pack ! 🤩🤪🐾

Working on incessant barking at outside noises, and the doorbell in particular! 🚪❗️

Demand barking for attention off guests and owners.

Reactivity to people & dogs on walks.

We got straight to work exposing them all to myself, only allowing to great me once completely calm, then moving onto a street walk meeting Narla 🐕
Which helped confirm who is possibly instigating certain behaviours and who are the most stable ones of the pack 💃🤪
Allowing us to give all dogs a very neutral experience with a strange dog, while then going over where to start by setting up a detailed plan of action going forward to help bring back order.

This involves teaching basic & some advanced obedience, charging up markers, all while helping to work on impulses to stop the rehearsal of these behaviours.

Establishing new but clear rules, and demonstrating calm, assertive leadership.
I’m extremely confident with my approach and with dedication from the owners we will no doubt be able to tackle these behaviours.

The right training, on going support and group classes are essential in making great progress for you and your reactive dog.

All dogs from today’s obedience class were once loosing their minds at the sight of another dog,
However now coexisting, staying engaged and following commands, all while being completely relaxed.
