🚨 Reporting an Unlicensed Riding School 🚨

All riding establishments in the UK that offer riding lessons or hire out horses and ponies 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝗯𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲𝗱 by their local authority. This is a legal requirement under the Riding Establishments Acts of 1964 and 1970. All ABRS+ riding establishments must be licensed. ✅

A licence ensures that minimum standards of safety, care and animal welfare are met. It must be clearly displayed on the premises, and local councils are required to keep a public register of licensed centres.

At ABRS+, we receive many messages throughout the year from concerned members of the public about centres they believe are operating without a licence and we take every concern seriously.

Anyone wishing to loan one our ponies must fulfill the following criteria:

To ride regularly at Santolina Stables (minimum of 2 lessons per month)
To have achieved your Test 2 ABRS in Pony Care and Welfare
Ride in the top level group lessons.
