Sisco’s journey with us is almost coming to and end 😁

Although we weren’t expecting to have him back and it wasn’t quite part of the plan it’s good to have the old Sisco back 🤗

I’m not here to slag anyone else’s work off as this job isn’t easy, however when the brief isn’t read correctly and you end up with an upset horse it’s far from ideal 🤦‍♀️

Sisco had dropped a little weight upon arrival probably after lots of travelling in a short space of time, and not much turnout. But there’s nothing a good bit of turnout and lots of hay couldn’t fix 💪

After a physio session and quick saddle check we were able to get started ☺️

As with all the youngsters it was hack, hack, hack and more hacking. He soon chilled out again towards his work. Calm, quiet riding, lots of voice aids, with a longer rein where possible done the trick.

I was keen (unlike with the others) to get him into the school a few weeks in to see if we could get him to chill in there again too. (After hearing a few stories on what had happened prior to coming back)

We only stuck to walk and trot, lots of circles, to occupy his brain and help him focus on something. Keeping it all calm, nice and friendly. I didn’t feel the need for him to canter in there and potentially upset him while he’s still growing like a w**d and very unbalanced…Total success!

His new loaners popped by yesterday for a little hack and he was absolutely foot perfect 🥰

I’m glad he did return so we could put him back on the right track… so rewarding ☺️

A little snippet of Daphnie’s journey with us 😁

This horse has been an absolute pleasure to work with since the day she arrived. We usually spend most of our time trying to undo human related damage no matter how innocently it’s been caused. So it was beyond refreshing to have a horse in that had been started absolutely perfectly 👌

Daphnie had previously been bitted, had tack on, been sat on, lunged, ground work ect(essentially backed) and because it was done correctly it made our job so much easier ☺️

Never be afraid to hold your hands up and say I need help or being unsure where to start sometimes it’s more beneficial for all involved to let others help.

We started off doing our safety checks in the school…
✅ Can we get on board and off again safely.
✅ Can we go forwards
✅ Can we stop

After all of the above off we go out hacking. I genuinely don’t believe in hammering young horses round the school it does them no good both mentally and physically 😕

Daphnie went home having experienced the big wide world proving to be versatile and quite bold. Our final tester was to hack solo. Which she did no problem 💪
We just had to go right back to what we taught her from the start, as being alone did encourage her to want to get going and get on with her job, therefore we had a little fidget at junctions.
So some patience stand and wait training sessions were had.
She was definitely more forward going alone also, so again back to basics we don’t want to jog when we can have a nice chilled walk on a long rein 🥰

Final video of her demonstrating walk, trot and Canter in the school. It may not look pretty, but the horse is happy and not school sour. Showing she knows the basic aids and what we’re asking and the main thing which above all she’s as safe as can be 🤗
Her owners now also have some homework and can go and fine tune her in her own time. She’s a big young horse that is still growing so her school work will come along as she gets stronger 😊

Happy Days!

Hank is a beautifully and unusually marked pony, a real stand out from the crowd type. He’d be a cracking lead rein/ first ridden in the future. Unknown breeding, but he’s very fine potentially a bit of British Riding Pony in there. Hank was brought to bring on and produce but....

Look who’s back…After being left to mature over winter Sisco’s ready to be rebacked 😁

Oakvale Emyr went off on his new adventures yesterday after sailing through his vetting 😁

Excited to see what he gets up to on his new journey with his little people, Good Luck guys wishing you the best of luck with him 🍀

And just like that Emyr’s Sold subject to vetting obviously the first people to come and see him wanted him ☺️

I could not have asked for a better home for him Mum events and Dads a jump jockey and the boys absolutely adored him! An experienced home where Emyr will have the best time at Pony Club and out hunting 🥰

Beyond proud of Emyr this is also the first time he’s had a proper little person on board and it was just the cutest thing ever 🥹

Will be sad to see this one go! But we get to keep in touch and follow his journey…
And to be told he’s a total credit to us was the icing on the cake 😁
Proud to have backed and produced him

We did also get to have some fun showing just how child proof this pony is for 4 years old 😄

I have been rather slack on updating our page recently 🙈

So here’s a Rosie update (Schooling livery)

She has come such a long way and I’m super proud of the horse she’s now becoming.

When she arrived my gut feeling was that her saddle wasn’t right and could be a possible cause of her explosive behaviour as shown in the video below 😬🤦‍♀️

So after a game changing change of saddle we could then start trying to get through to her 💪

We have since been to gallop hire to allow her to let off some steam where she behaved impeccably even in an open space and in a group! ☺️

The biggest reward has been watching her owner regain her confidence with Rosie who has also since been out on hound exercise and Arena Eventing.. Even Mum has been on board for a little ride in the school too! 👏🏻

Happy days!
We still have a little bit of work to do on ground manners, but mostly looking forward to a summer of fun for these guys 🥰
