UPDATE TO SAFETY PROCEDURES Hi Everyone. As a number of you may be aware I came across a case recently of a cat lashing out. It is hugely important that all cats in my care are not stressed out but I also need to ensure that my safety is maintained. It is a rare occasion that this can happen but I did have a case just recently.

There are also differences in how you define lashing out. Play nipping by cats is absolutely fine it is a different thing. You know when a cat is just playing but lashing is a different matter.

I am 100% supportive of my clients using catcams and cctv. Not only is it useful for me but it is also useful for my clients too. In addition a recording can help a client seek further advice from a cat behaviour specialist so this is helpful to clients too.

I also think it,s good to note a cats behaviour if it does lash out and with that in mind in certain situations I will be wearing a body camera and it,s only in extremme circumstances which is unusual.

I really hope people will understand the reasons why I have felt this is necessary in situations where I feel it is appropriate.

I love the job I do. I adore cats and extremme situations like this will not deter me as I uphold and continue to carry out my work professionally.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT BOOKING UPDATES

Well it,s been a very busy time and I hope you have all enjoyed your Summer break.

It is now time for me to take some time off and maybe take a little holiday myself so I wanted to give you all plenty of warning.

I try to book my breaks after those peak times so I am able to cater for those busy times you all go away away during half term, Summer breaks, Bank Holidays, Easter and Christmas so I am able to cater for your needs BUT if you do have an Emergency I do have a cover who can help.

So the following dates I will be unavailable for microchipping and cat feeding

September 27th up to and including October 4th.

November 8th up to and including Thursday 20th November.

I am taking bookings for cat feeding and microchipping before and after these dates. I am DBS checked, insured and trained to administer medication by Greensands Vets. I am also a government authorised and government agency trained Mobile Cat Microchip Implanter too.

Hi Everyone. Some of you may have seen a negative feedback on my page just recently.

As many of you are aware I have been very proud of what I do. I maintain professional conduct and care throughout.

Not only do I care about the job I do. I do everything I can to ensure that all cats are well taken care of.

Unfortunately I have stumbled across a case where a new client needed to go away and I was told that the cat did not like strangers.

Normally I am able to handle situations like this but on this occasion the the cat was lashing out preventing me access to an area of the house. Fortunately for me I also had an eye witness who could also see and witness what was happening.

In situations like this it is important for my safety and for cat to ensure that no further escalation of attempts to an area until the cat calms down and not placed under any situation on generating more stress on the cat and maintaining safety. I do not want cats stressing any more than necessary. I am also and happy for cameras in properties and normally recommend to clients that these are useful for all concerned.

We did managed to bring a litter tray down after the cat lashed out from an upstairs location and continue to maintain it. In the meantime the cat continued to be fed and watered.

Throughout communication with the client and with this being the first session with the client in question I recommended a cat behaviour specialist. This does not say to any cat owner that they are not taking care of their cat. It is only to suggest if your cat is having problems with strangers there are ways a cat behaviour specialist can monitor and give advise of the best cause of action for your cat.

There are cats which are more ferile breeds and do require fresh air and outdoor cat enclosures can help

There are treatments which vets can also recommend to owners to help calm their pets down.

I always believe that lessons are learnt through experiences. This was an unusual case but wish the client well and hope they take any advise given to help with dealing with a cat that gets stressed with strangers.

I will continue to do a job I enjoy and have enjoyed the relationships I have developed with all my clients over the years. I would recommend cat sitters and I salute all cat sitters out there as we love what we do and cats do prefer home comforts.

I would say to anyone who receives a negative feedback to look at these situations in a constructive manner and see it as an experience and move forward, hold your head up high and continue doing what you enjoy doing by providing a vital service.

CHRISTMAS OPERATING HOURS I simply cannot believe that we are looking into Christmas operating hours already. For those cats that prefer home comforts. After much family discussion. My operating hours over this period will be as follows.

CHRISTMAS EVE I will be working up to Christmas Eve lunchtime then setting timers for Xmas eve pm and Christmas Day.

CHRISTMAS DAY I will not be in operation

BOXING DAY I will be operating as normal

27th DECEMBER I will be operating as normal

28th DECEMBER I will be operating as normal

29th DECEMBER I will be operating as normal.

30th DECEMBER I will be operating as normal.

NEW YEARS EVE I will be working up to lunchtime and setting timers for New Year's Day.

NEW YEARS DAY I will not be in operation

2nd January onwards will be operating as normal.

Hi Everyone. It is hot hot 🔥. All cats are doing really well. Pm run started earlier this afternoon and I am now taking shelter under a tree with my diary gearing up for the weekend.

I will also be invoicing.

Can I also remind those of you going away if yiu can ensure that your keys are dropped off at my place at least 24 hours before you go away. Please check your keys are fully working before handing them over.
