A Message From My Heart ❤️🐾
Over the past few months, I’ve been through one of the most difficult experiences since becoming a pet sitter.
A booking platform repeatedly assured me that there was nothing wrong with my account, and that new customers could still find my profile.
But deep down, I knew something wasn’t right.
For months, I searched for my own profile and couldn’t find it. I contacted customer support again and again, but I was always told everything was working normally.
Then one day, one of my returning clients told me:
“I searched for you, but I couldn’t find your profile anywhere. Luckily you messaged me first, otherwise I would never have found you or been able to book with you.”
At that moment, I realised I hadn’t been imagining things.
If I hadn’t contacted my client first, I would have lost that booking.
I moved to Scotland almost three years ago, and I’ve now been working as a pet sitter for over two years.
Over those two years, I worked incredibly hard to build my small business from the ground up. Every 5-star review, every returning booking, every recommendation, and every relationship with my wonderful paw parents was earned through trust, dedication, and genuine love for every fur baby in my care.
Those reviews weren’t just numbers.
They represented more than two years of hard work, trust, and the reputation I built one booking at a time.
After months of insisting that everything was normal, the platform finally admitted there had been an issue within their system that affected my account.
What upset me the most was being told that if I wanted more bookings, I should simply find my own new customers because they would no longer provide me with new client enquiries.
That was incredibly difficult to accept.
If I have to build my own reputation, promote my own business, and bring in my own customers, why should every booking still go through the platform with a 15% commission deducted from every payment?
I have always been happy to pay commission when a platform genuinely introduces me to new paw parents.
That’s exactly what commission should be for.
Despite everything, I refused to give up.
Because of the amazing support from my wonderful returning paw parents, this has become the busiest summer I’ve ever had. My diary has been almost fully booked every single day.
To everyone who contacted me but whom I sadly had to turn away, I’m truly sorry.
It was never because I didn’t want to care for your precious fur babies.
I simply had no availability left.
I sincerely hope you’ll understand, and I truly look forward to meeting you and your fur babies in the future.
Finally, I want to thank every single paw parent who has trusted me over the past two years.
Your support, recommendations, kind words, and trust have helped my small business continue to grow, even during one of the most challenging times I’ve faced.
A special thank you as well to the lovely paw parents who have brought me thoughtful little gifts from your travels around the world. Your kindness means more to me than words can express.
Thank you for believing in me.
No matter what happens in the future, I will continue welcoming every fur baby with the same love, patience, and care as if they were my own.
Because to me, they are never “just dogs”… they are family. ❤️🐾
If you’ve ever tried searching for me and couldn’t find my profile, please know that I’m still here, still doing what I love, and I’d be honoured to care for your fur babies. ❤️
With love,
Coey
