Please look after your dogs in the heat💔❤️‍🩹

Last night my heart broke I was called at 20 to 11 from my mum and dad travelling home with the dogs and they came across a boxer almost dead on the side of the road, no tags on the collar, I don’t know how long he has been out, where hes from, he was i. A nightmare state, collapsed, foaming at the mouth, feet red raw, I got to them with ice towels and water in 6 minutes (it was not suppose to be 6 mins🤣) and helped him out for a minute before all carrying him into my car and racing to Hartford emergency vets, the vets started treating him in my car; he could barely stand but they did find his owner as he was chipped and I found out this morning he was okay and home!

I don’t know his name or owner, no houses nearby knew him but he couldn’t of gone home in that state the vets was the only places for him- and I would say he had an hour left if they didn’t find him and called me to help, and it was by chance they went that way home it wasn’t the usual - it was my worse nightmare, he was helpless 😫😢

Please check your gates, keep them safe with water and cool and put tags on your collars 🧊 the heat is a killer.

If you are walking a dog today or over the next few days - go out in the early morning or late evening when it’s cooler. DO NOT walk a dog during the hottest parts of the day.

Don’t run or cycle with your dog when it’s hot.

DO NOT leave them in the car or tied up in the heat!

Pavements can get very hot! You know the saying, "it's hot enough to fry an egg!" Imagine what that does to your poor dogs' feet! If the ground is too hot to touch with your hand for five seconds, it’s too hot for paws!
