As a family we have experienced far too much heartbreak and trauma due to Cancer!
I lost my brother to lung cancer and my Nan to Lymphoma.
I was also diagnosed with cancer on three separate occasions.
Firstly Non - Hodgkin’s lymphoma whilst pregnant with oldest daughter, who due to me being so unwell was born 8 weeks premature. Quite traumatic but she was a strong little girl and thankfully only needed to spend a couple of weeks in SBCU.
Treatment was harsh as I agreed to go on a clinical trial but came through it and went on to have another daughter 5 years later.
Then the devastating news came in 2019 that I had breast cancer. I had a right breast mastectomy, recovered quickly and got back to work. 13 months later found another lump on my mastectomy scar! Back to hospital to have this removed under local anaesthetic. Recovery was a little slower due to scar taking time to knit back together.
Covid then hit…..I found a lump on my neck - went for scan and was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer!
By this point - we as a family were grieving the loss of two grandparents as well as dealing with another diagnosis and Covid!
Back into hospital to have half my thyroid removed!
I have definitely had my quota of great care from the doctors and nurses in the NHS!
This is a small way for me and my girls to give back a little to help rid this planet of such a horrid disease that affects far too many families.
If you have read this to the end I would really appreciate a little or a big donation…any amount helps!
Thank you 💕
