Open House for Johns Retirement

29/07/2022

Tomorrow marks the closure of John Knott’s Veterinary Practise at Upper Hookpit Farmhouse, Kings Worthy. After 37 years at the present location and 40 years in the village we are closing our doors as a licensed premises. John and the team have been overwhelmed with the messages we have received from clients, many who have become firm friends, wishing him a long and happy retirement.
Many thanks to you all for trusting John and the team to care for your pets needs over the years. We will miss the banter but not the phone calls. 😊

To celebrate Johns retirement after over 40 years of Veterinary Medicine (more if you count the training) we would like to invite clients and friends to an ‘Open House’ on Saturday 6th August from 2pm until 6pm.
Please pop us a message if you are able to attend.
We look forward to seeing you.

A polite reminder to dog walkers , please keep your dogs under control, not allowing them to run into our garden and chase and kill our chickens .we have lost numerous chickens now and a cat ,to dog dog attacks . This is there home , and not acceptable !

There is an awful lot of kennel cough about at the moment. If your dog hasn’t had a vaccination against kennel cough ,we strongly recommend
You contact the surgery , and book an appointment .

If you think your dog has kennel cough or has been exposed to kennel cough and are worried , please contact the surgery and we will
Advise you on what to do .

The incubation period for kennel cough ranges from 2-14 days , the most common symptom is the onset of an abrupt dry cough ,a hacking cough followed by a fetching noise , like your dog is trying to clear its throat . Whilst most dogs remain ok in them selfs , it’s not uncommon for them of be off their food , have a nasal discharge and fever .

Your dog will remain contagious for 10-14 days after being ill. This is when it’s important not to let your dogs go to day care , boarding kennels , groomers, dog training or socialise with other dogs .

If you are worried , please contact the surgery on 01962 884013 .
