Did you know your dog's nose is their superpower?

Dogs experience the world through scent, so one of the best ways to enrich their day is by giving them the chance to use that incredible nose!

This week's enrichment idea is a DIY scent trail; it's simple, fun, and your dog will absolutely love it.

How to create a scent trail:

1️⃣ Start by showing your dog a tasty treat.

2️⃣ While they're waiting (or someone is holding them), drag the treat along the grass to leave a scent trail.

3️⃣ Drop a few treats along the way and leave a jackpot of treats at the end.

4️⃣ Release your dog with a cue like **"Find it!"** and let them follow their nose.

As your dog gets better, make the trails longer, add twists and turns, or hide the final reward behind a tree or flower pot.

Why scent trails are so beneficial:
- Encourage natural sniffing and tracking instincts
- Provide fantastic mental stimulation
- Build confidence and independence
- Help burn energy without lots of physical exercise
- Can help dogs relax and decompress after a busy day

The best part? You don't need expensive equipment or hours of free time. Just 10–15 minutes of scent work can leave your dog feeling happy, fulfilled, and ready for a well-earned nap.

Sometimes the best exercise isn't about walking further; it's about letting your dog do what they were born to do... follow their nose!
