RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre

RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre RSPCA Block Fen Animal Centre is a rehoming centre with dogs, cats and small animals looking for new homes. We also have a pet accessories shop. THANKYOU

Here at Block Fen most of the animals have been rescued from neglect and bad treatment by their previous owners. When they come to us they are often nervous of strangers. We spend weeks, sometimes months, looking after them preparing them for a new life and a second chance. We look after cats, dogs, rabbits and other domestic animals - at any one time we are caring for over 150 animals. All our an

imals are looking for someone to offer them a new home, to be a friend and look after them. In return a pet will offer fun, friendship and loyalty. It costs the RSPCA over Β£1,400 a day to run Block Fen Animal Centre. The RSPCA relies entirely on kind donations from people like you. If you would like to support us, or you have room in your home and in your heart to take on a rescue animal, please pay us a visit. We look forward to seeing you. PLEASE DO NOT POST CONCERNS OF ANIMAL NEGLECT ON OUR PAGE AS IT MAY NOT BE CHECKED IMMEDIATELY AND THIS MAY CAUSE FURTHER NEGLECT TO THE ANIMALS CONCERNED. PLEASE REPORT IT TO 0300 1234 999.

Let’s give our gorgeous Ophelia a HUGE round of applause for being the most amazing mum and nursing all 10 of her puppies all by herself! πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ What a superstar she’s been! πŸ’™

And now for the BEST news… someone has fallen in love with this beautiful girl and Ophelia is officially RESERVED! πŸ₯³πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰

We couldn’t be happier for her! After all she’s done for her babies, she absolutely deserves her own happily ever after. πŸ₯ΉπŸ’™

However, some of Ophelia’s gorgeous pups are still looking for their forever homes! πŸΆπŸ’•

A little reminder from us πŸ’šπŸ”₯

With the ground so dry at the moment, outdoor fires can spread incredibly quickly and can put people, animals and wildlife at risk.

We’re sharing this useful infographic from Cambridgeshire Fire & Rescue Service with some simple tips on how we can all help prevent outdoor fires. 🌿🐾

Please take a moment to have a read and share it with friends, family and anyone who might find it useful.

A few simple precautions can make a huge difference β€” and help keep our countryside, wildlife and communities safe. ❀️

We'd like to thank all the emergency services on scene at the devastating fire at Holme Fen, they are working tirelessly to bring the fire under control. πŸ’”

Stay safe, everyone! πŸŒ³πŸ•πŸ΄

With the continued hot, dry conditions we're having, fires in fields and open land can spread incredibly quickly, making them much more challenging for firefighters to tackle. πŸš’

The ground is much drier and hotter than using, meaning even a small fire can grow rapidly and travel across large area, tying up emergency resources for quite a while.

Please see our top tips below on how to prevent outdoor fires this summer. πŸ”₯

We'd really appreciate it if you could share this post!

🐾 They’re not always the cats you notice first… but they could be the ones who need you most. ❀️

Some of our cats arrive feeling nervous, overwhelmed and unsure of the world around them. They may hide away and take a little longer to trust but underneath that initial shyness can be a playful, affectionate and wonderfully cheeky personality just waiting to come out. πŸ₯ΉπŸ±

That’s where foster homes can make such a huge difference.

We’re looking for cat fosterers who can offer a temporary home where these cats can feel safe, comfortable and secure, giving them the time, patience and space they need to build their confidence and show us who they really are.

You could be the person who helps a nervous cat discover that the world isn’t such a scary place and takes those first steps towards finding their forever home. 🏑❀️

Could you open your home to a cat who just needs a little extra time to shine?

If you think you could help, follow the link below to find out more and apply to become a fosterer: πŸ‘‡

You might only be their temporary home, but you could make a forever difference. ❀️🐾

A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO OUR LLOYD! πŸ’™

We are SO proud of this big, beautiful boy and just had to celebrate his progress! πŸ₯ΉπŸΎ

Lloyd came into our care having had very little experience of the big, wide world. He arrived as a worried and confused youngster in a HUGE body and lots of everyday things were understandably very scary for him. πŸ’”

One of those things was the van. Lloyd was once terrified to even walk anywhere near it, but this week… he jumped in! πŸšπŸ‘

Not only did he get in, he did it on command! πŸ₯Ή

It might seem like a little thing, but for Lloyd this is HUGE. It shows just how willing and eager he is to learn when someone gives him the time, patience and encouragement he needs.

Lloyd just needs that special someone to believe in him and show him that the world isn't such a scary place. πŸŒŽπŸ’™

Imagine being the person who gets to watch this worried boy blossom into the happy, confident dog we know he can be. πŸ₯Ή

Well done, Lloyd. We are SO proud of you! πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ’™

Do you enjoy driving? Would you like to help save our Inspectorate's time by helping to transport animals in need?

The RSPCA’s Animal Logistics Team supports our Inspectors and Animal Rescue Officers by transporting animals to and from the vets, private boarding establishments, animal centres and hospitals within health and safety guidelines. The vast majority of our drivers are volunteers, saving our Inspectorate time and freeing up their time to attend calls for help.

If you have a valid driving licence and live in or around Wimblington, March then you could support our vital work by in moving animals as required, using a van based at RSPCA Block Fen Drove, Wimblington, March PE15 0FB.

This week was one of those moments that reminds us exactly why we do what we do...

After what felt like forever, our longest stay resident, Ripley, finally packed his bags and headed off to start the next chapter of his life with his forever family. 🏑🐾

It's impossible not to get attached to dogs like Ripley. He became such a big part of life at the centre, and while saying goodbye is always bittersweet, this is the goodbye we've all been dreaming of πŸ₯°

To everyone who shared his posts, visited him and believed his day would come..... Thank you. You helped make this happy ending possible 😘

Now go and show them how amazing you are, Ripley. We already miss your cheeky face, but we couldn't be prouder. Happy ever after starts now big lad 🫢
