This is not my normal post but this new business has been made selling high quality hamster and small animal supplies! I’ve seen and used their products (before the business was even public as to help check quality) for my own hams and the rescues and can extremely reccomend them 🄰 they are so lovely there and extremely knowledgeable for advice for care as well ā¤ļø Burrow & Bloom

Okay, so this is a big one but it’s needing to be said and explained…

Unfortunately I am having to temporarily close the rescue. What this means is I will be turning the page into an educational page, however will be keeping the name the same. I’ll be making a small post just going over the face the rescue is closed to keep pinned to the top of the page so it’s easy to seeā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹. It honestly breaks my heart having to do this however my health has taken a turn so I’m unable to keep up with the care all these babies deserve.

You’re probably wondering what’s happening to the hams and gerbils here.
Well the gerbils have been adopted (yayyy!) and have gone to their forever home being spoilt rotten!
Ozzy has also been adopted!! He’s going to his forever home today and his new family are making sure everything is perfect for him!
Dodger has well and truly captured the heart of my mum šŸ™ˆ she’s now going to be staying with me as a resident!
And last but definitely not least jammy. Unfortunately I haven’t been able to get jammy homed so she has gone to a new rescue that can find her the perfect home.

For any questions you may have please always feel free to message me and contact me even if it’s something you may think is stupid. Sometimes the smallest thing of is this safe can help your hammy so much.

I am hoping to re open the rescue at a later date, but it will all depend on my health goes with treatment. Thank you all for the support and donations I’ve had so far, every bit of it has gone to the rescues. ā¤ļø

Here’s Dodger!

Dodger has made so much progress since being here, she absolutely loves attention and being stroked. She loves her wheel and all treats 🄺 and definitely has the most unique and stunning markings I’ve seen on a hammy šŸ˜

On arrival dodger was definitely unsure of people (a lot of screaming was done and has been a very slow process šŸ™ˆ). Now, as soon as she sees me she wants attention, like everyone, including people, she does have her days when she isn’t too keen on attention and she’ll take herself into her burrow out of the way.

Dodger does have a small health issue. She has one deformed toe on her back foot. Despite this she does all her normal hamster activities and it doesn’t affect her at all. In terms of any additional care there really isn’t any other than she cannot have a barred cage unless the bars are completely covered, this cannot be grass matts it does need to be something smooth that no matter what she cannot climb. This is a non negotiable as I did learn the hard way with Dodger that it’s something she needs (she attempted climbing here and hurt her foot more, which is completely healed). In terms of her toe, I’m unsure as of the cause, but I am sure it doesn’t cause her any pain it just looks a little bit silly šŸ™ˆ

Feel free to message and ask about this sweet girl, she is so loving and really deserves to be in her forever home ā¤ļøā€šŸ©¹

Here is Jammy!
I know the photos still arnt great… but it’s the best I could get šŸ™ˆ
Jammy is an amazing little girl, she loves her sprays (but does eat them from under burrows which is quite funny) she loves to be out and on her wheel, exploring her different substrates and watching people. Jammy is a very active little girly.
She’s getting a lot better with handing, she loves her strokes and just letting your hand be in her space… I think she likes the company. Despite this taking her out of the cage is definitely a working progress and may need a little bit of TLC to get her there. However, she is definitely getting much more used to it, she’ll walk on my hand and wants to come out I do believe it’s just a little bit of confusion when she’s actually moved.
So far, Jammy’s favourite treat is having a little bit of Cranberry, that’s the only one she took in the photo process, but she’ll definitely take others!!
I have absolutely no concerns with Jammy that the progress she’ll make in her forever home will be nothing but positive, her health is perfect and as well I have no worries about this.
This little girl is so loving and really deserves a family who will love her just as much as she’ll love them ā¤ļø

Feel free to pop me a message with any questions or enquiries you may have about her ā¤ļø

Tofu got a reset today (so did Oreo and Nugget but I forgot to record those) he does have a multi chamber but forgot to record that as well šŸ™ˆ I’ll be doing the rescues resets over the next few days so I’ll record those and get photos at the same time (hopefully if they cooperate!).

This basically breaks down the steps I do to make a full reset more manageable. I’m the first person to admit doing a new full set up can definitely be overwhelming, especially if it’s something your new to doing it. By breaking it down this way I find it a lot more manageable and simple to do.

Update: I have not forgotten!! I’m still having a lot of trouble getting photos of the babies in our care right now so putting their posts up is a working process šŸ™ˆ unfortunately they’re all very shy so is going to be a longer process than I thought… until then I’ll keep up with my posts on how they’re doing!

The gerbils: they’re loving life right now and making all their burrows and treats 🄺

Jammy: Jammy is still completely healthy and happy. She’s definitely getting better with attention and does now allow my to stroke her however picking her up and out of the cage is still a definite no right now. But progress is still progress!

Dodger: When dodger came in she had a cage full of flys and what seems to be a broken or deformed toe. But! This causes her no problems and or pain and still goes about her happy hamster business. Like Jammy she is getting a lot of attention and is a bit better with attention. She will allow me to hold her now for short amount of time and loves her attention.

Ozzy: he is definitely doing a lot better with attention and his funky tooth is going to be a long fix problem (poor nutrition in his previous home - no hate they were just badly informed on care)

So, everyone here is doing amazing with their progress! If anyone is interested in any of these babies your still more than welcome to contact me on here or any other socials to enquire about them and some videos in evenings can be worked on getting for you.

We’ve had lots of intakes over the last week!! So a few more checks do need to be done for their heath and how tame they are but all these babies will be looking for their homes soon!
The first photo is Jammy, a female Syrian hamster, so far she is very gentle but needs getting used to handling a bit more.
Next is Dodger, another female Syrian hamster, she may be a little longer if you like her as she has a bit of a funny toe so that just needs an eye on for me to feel comfortable with letting her go, however again, she’s extremely loving and early rising but can be quite timid.
Next is our most recent intake Ozzy, a male Syrian hamster, he as well will be a little longer as he’s only come in a few days ago and has a tooth that needs seeing šŸ™ˆ
Finally, we have a trio of Gerbils. These are all girls. However, if someone is looking for a single (which would be preferred) I’m more than happy to do that as pairs are better however I do not have another single here to bond.
Set up checks will be done and fees do apply! All these babies ages are completely unknown but please share or if your interested pop me a message on here on on any of our other platforms to enquire. More in depth posts about them will be put on soon (hopefully with some better photos as well šŸ™ˆ) with more about each of them.

And here is our final resident! This is blue, she's a lop bunny and we have no idea of her age. Blue has a neurological condition (unsure as of what) which causes her to sway whenever she is relaxing however, you would most definitely never know with the chaos she gets up to! Despite her swaying she is a completely happy and playful little girl who LIVES for any and all attention (and food)! She's more than happy to sit and cuddle on the sofa for as long as she's getting strokes or until food time
