Happy friday!!!!! Here's a sneak peak to see where all the magic happens! With our top of the range equipment such as our clean and sterile theatre including a heated table and oxygen generators, our fantastic lab including biochemistry, haemotology, imagyst which enables us to run in house cytology which can test lumps, urine sedament and blood smears saving time and clients money! And the digital x-ray which captures images and immediately transfers them to the computer and the patients record. All sitting pretty on our canine friendly non slip floor!!

Yesterday morning we delivered 3 healthy pups by emergency c section, after mum managed to have 2 naturally she just needed a little help with the rest. It was all hands on deck and an outstanding effort from the whole team. Mother and pups all doing brilliantly 🐾

One day last week we found ourselves looking after six very poorly 5 week old puppies. We suspect they had parvo virus (a highly contagious illness) with a low survival rate. The whole team were absolutely fantastic and everyone pulled together. A special huge thankyou to the number of clients who we had to contact to rearrange appointments. Treating these puppies took an enormous amount of time, each receiving intravenous fluids, medications and intensive barrier nursing. An estimate was provided to the owner and they agreed to the treatment and the price. They could not afford for the puppies to be referred to an out of hours vet so came to collect the puppies at the end of the day with the intention of briging them back the following day to continue their treatment. When the owner arrived, they had conveniently forgotten their payment card and unable to hold the puppies hostage, we had to give them back. Yes, quite a large bill was created which wasn't settled and as a new business this will hit us hard but the most upsetting thing is that when these puppies left us, they went right back to where they came from (although a little brighter from a day of fluids and meds).

From now on, patients who require hospitalisation will be asked to pay at least 50% of their estimate upfront. For clients who have every intention to pay for their pets treatment, I hope this does not cause any offence.

Wow, where have the last 3 weeks gone!! I really cannot believe that we've reached the end of our third week!! Thankyou to all of our new clients who have come in to support us!!

Today, Tommy came in for a microchip. He's constantly trying to get out of the garden and now if he succeeds, he can be reunited with his owner!! Ed, the vet, implanted it like a pro!!
