A big thank you!

Taking a break from not posting pictures of your dogs (😬😂) to say a big thank you to everyone for your patience and tolerance of my rubbishness whilst we navigate Clara's operation.

Many of you know Clara has Obstructive Sleep Apnea and lots of you were clients when Jacob had the same. Her tonsils covered 75% of her airways and, along with her huge adenoids, were removed this week. A very common routine operation that will hopefully change her life.

Navigating any operation is stress inducing, I'm grateful to the NHS for their amazing care and the kindness current and new clients have shown whilst we figured out the logistics.

I'm back in the salon from tomorrow and I'm sure our wildling will be throwing balls for your dogs in no time.

It's rare I have space for new clients anymore but feeling blessed to be able to welcome these gorgeous pups into the gang!

Another great Emmi-Pet session!

I've said before that it's not a quick fix, results can take time and multiple sessions but with perseverance you can achieve great results.

This dogs wasn't a fan of flicking the plaque from the teeth so results may be a little slower but her happiness will always be my priority.

🐾🐾 I've had some questions about the mid treatment I put on my stories last week so I've used Otis to showcase how great it is for short haired breeds.

The de-shedding mud treatment helps to remove loose hair and dander. The mud binds to the loose hair and helps exfoliate the skin, after ten minutes, the mud rinsed off, taking the unwanted hair and debris with it. This process can reduce shedding, leaving the coat smoother, healthier, and more manageable. It may also nourish the skin and improve coat condition by adding moisture and essential minerals.

I ran my fingers over Otis' coat to show how much loose hair he had and in the final picture I did the same. You can see the difference without any manual de-shedding. It can also help to reduce shedding between appointments.

Great for short haired breeds, ask if you'd like to add it on! 🐾🐾

✨️ My NY resolution was to take more dog pictures...I've managed 4/10 and I think that's good going for me 🙈😂

Appointments are filling up fast, if you had an Xmas appointment and haven't re-booked get in touch ASAP.

If you need a Monday evening or a Saturday appointment I'd strongly advise you book a few in advance (or even for the year if you want to be wonderful) to guarantee one of the precious evening/weekend appointments. My Saturday's are already full until the middle April!

It's been a long time coming but it's time for a work phone!

Having one phone has been so useful but when it became clear my old phone was on its last legs, I decided on a separate SIM in the hope I can regain some balance and a camera roll not full of dogs.

🌈 Merredge🌈

It has been my honor to groom Merredge for a few years now and I am heartbroken to hear he has crossed the rainbow bridge.

If you've ever bought a poppy in Wigston then you know Rob and Merredge was always at his side, sneaking fusses when he should be working.⚘️

Merredge was more than a dog to Rob, he was his best friend and the love they had for each other radiated out of them. I know how much he will miss him and how much he will be missed in the community.

Merredge truly was the sweetest dog and a dream to groom, the goodest of boys, right until the end.

Sleep tight my boy, you can rest now 💕

Out of the office 🙌🙌

I will be out of the office until Friday 26th July.

For the first time ever, I'm not going to respond to any messages whilst I'm away from the salon, I need to rest, recharge and spend some time with the little munchkins.

I'll get back to everyone on my return but in the meantime here are some cuties to keep you going.

The gorgeous Isla showing why puppy introductions are so important.

I always recommend at least three short sessions to introduce your pup to the sights, sounds and smells of grooming. Short sessions allow for a positive association to be created, doesn't push them too far and allows for homework in between.

On her second session, Isla was struggling with the dryer but taking it slow and practicing at home meant she was much happier the next time around. A slow introduction to the clippers, also meant she handled taking off some coat like a pro leaving her much more comfortable in the heat.

Plenty of time for cuddles and a play in the garden too. She is a dream and a welcome addition to the H&H family.

Another great Emmi-Pet result, it really is satisfying when they come up this well. A little more work required on the back teeth but great results for a first session, and what a good boy he way!

Some more great Emmi Pet before and afters. Sometimes the plaque is stubborn and it needs a few sessions before it's soft enough to remove. Keeping your dog happy and not pushing them is always my main goal!
