Such a beautiful day today !
Dare we say it’s been a long time coming ! 🌞
We’re super busy this weekend so we thought we would put on our post tonight rather than running out of time tomorrow.😁

So how can we help our pets settle into boarding ?

We think these top tips help enormously .

Bring their favourite toy, blankets or beds , not new and unwashed.
Pack familiar food if we cannot supply it .
Keep drop-offs calm and positive. This is really the most important, effective way to reassure your pets.
Make sure your morning routine is the same .
Practice short separation breaks.
Make sure you bring any medicine your pet is taking.

We're always here to make their stay as stress-free as possible.

It’s a pleasure to say that most dogs who board with us race through the gates like they're checking into their favourite hotel !
That’s reassuring for us never mind them ! And it’s how we like it 😊

We've had some new doggy boarders at Dukes Barn Farm this last week or so ... and safe to say they've fully made themselves at home.😊

It's been all tail wags, and plenty of cuddles-just how we like it!

They've had an absolute ball, and we've loved having them ! Amazing to see them settled so quickly.

And just because we know you love seeing our babies, meet DBF Supernova born just before midnight. He’s an American Shetland , and will be affectionately known as Vega . Mums doing great . Our vets will check him over tomorrow . We hope he follows in his parents footsteps.

We've had a lovely influx of new guests boarding with us this
Easter, so lots of new faces today .

It's been a busy few weeks here at Dukes Barn Farm , and as always we are grateful for your continued support and kind words .
Many of our customers travel from far afield, some making 60+ miles in a round trip just to have their pets cared for by professional , knowledgeable staff with a passion to offer a safe and stimulating environment.

Once again we Thankyou for that effort and we hope you have all had a pleasant and peaceful day.

* Large Breeds Welcome *

Do you have a large or giant breed dog?

We know they're not just
"bigger" — they need more space, more comfort, and the right environment to truly relax while you're away.

At our boarding kennels, we're fully equipped to care for larger breeds with purpose-built accommodation designed just for them.

Extra-large areas to stretch out, stand tall, and move comfortably.
Our large breed kennels are 9.5 m2.

Spacious and ideal for bigger dogs or family groups who need room to roam and play.

We also have strong & secure enclosures.
Our exercise area was built with large breeds in mind , for safety ,and peace of mind.
The combined area is 40m x11 m .

We understand the needs, behaviour, and handling of larger breeds of dogs too , because we have at present and have had over the years this type of dog ourselves.

So that means we are experienced , knowledgeable and confident in handling and caring for large breeds.
Look at these regular beauties we have had boarding with us recently.
Pyrenees Mountain Dog, Bernese Mountain Dog Newfoundland and Caucasian Ovcharka .
