As firework season begins, let’s make sure our pets stay safe, calm, and comfortable ❤️

A few important tips:

🐾 Check gates and fences, frightened pets can bolt if startled. Make sure your garden is secure before letting them out.
🚶‍♀️ If your garden isn’t escape-proof, keep them on a lead for toilet breaks, even if it’s just for a quick wee.
💥 Fireworks can trigger the “fight or flight” response, so even calm dogs might panic or run.
🏡 Keep windows and doors closed, curtains drawn, and play calming music or the TV to help mask the noise.
🦴 Offer a treat, chew, or puzzle toy to distract and comfort them.
🧸 Create a safe den or quiet area with blankets and familiar smells where they can hide if they want to.
🦮 Anxiety vests or wraps can help some pets feel more secure.
💬 Stay calm yourself – pets pick up on our emotions, so keeping relaxed can really help reassure them.
📱 Make sure your pet’s ID tag and microchip details are up to date, just in case they do manage to escape.
